There are a couple of sites such as this one - https://www.leedsunited.news/news/report-leeds-man-tyler-roberts-to-leave-perman - saying we'll sign Tyler Roberts on a perm should we stay up. Surely not. This must be clickbait.

My understanding is there was an *option* to sign him on a perm for £4m and not an obligation as we have with Brighton and Taylor Richards. That would be an outlay we simply could not and should not be making for a player with an outrageously bad injury record.

I read the original article and all it says is we have an option on him. Its weird that link says we are 'expected' to sign him because the article they source doesn't say that.

Reckon there is more chance of me joining QPR next season than Roberts.

No, the deal is we are forced to sign him for £4m if we get promoted to the Prem ... yeah I know, please, my aching sides ... no more, please ...

Roberts will go back to Leeds, from next season no one in the UK will even loan him unless it's on a free or pay-and-display.
He will no doubt end up abroad at some Danish or Belgium club for a massively reduced deal. As that is all his agent could get him. Once again QPR have had to find him out as a losing bet, when other clubs have players like Tom Cannon on loan instead.

I said we should send Roberts back in Jan, obviously, we could not due to the loan deal. Mistake that.
Lessons learned the hard way again.

Forget about him, even if he magically plays, nets every game with hat-trick and keeps us up, we still wouldn't sign him. Someone else might but never us as we don't have the money even if he was on free.

zzzzzzzzzz

The worrying thing is, I wouldn’t put it past the idiots who run this club.

I'd be amazed if we signed him.

Other than the injury situation, he's not really set the world alight playing so it would be bizarre.

Be typical if we scrape it and have to buy Tyler without him contributing anything in the run in 🙄

We won't scrape promotion to the Premier League, I wouldn't worry

I don't think £4m is enough. I think we should pay that if we go down but if we stay up it should be more like £10m.

I don't believe any of what I just said but just want to see if any sites pick that sentence up and splash it as 'QPR line up £10m bid for Leeds sensation!'

Never knowingly right.

It would. But (and it's a big one in 72 point, bold face caps) he might be in the squad on saturday apparently. If (and we're up to 118 point extra-bold now) he plays well in our final matches, and we survive it's not outside the realms of possibility.

The freaks we employ to run the football side of things at the club didn’t even do the very basic due diligence on this sick note waste of space. Just looking at the Leeds fan sites would tell you everything you need to know…. This really is not difficult stuff.

Scooters, Tunes, Trainers and QPR.

In the total amount of time we've had him this season I've been quite impressed with his skill, speed, his heading and shooting ability, his tracking back as and when required and his infectious smile for three and a half minutes.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

What's the betting he'll rock up at some club next season and score a brace against QPR ending a desolate baron run of form?

People saying it's 'only' £500,000 if we don't go up or down.

Sounds like we’ve got Prince Andrew on our books, assuming he’s still the Duke of York.

If you’re the parent clubs of our loanees this season ,you’re not going to be impressed. Tim and Laird stared well and then just faded into oblivion.
On the evidence of this season none of them are going to cut it at the top level.

I mean quite apart from that still being £495,000 too much that would then mean QPR if promoted agreed to pay £4.5m for a player they could have had and Leeds only believe is worth £500k. I wouldn’t put it past us at the moment but…

Aside from the obviously nonsense reporting, I was absolutely tearing my hair out at all the muppets on twitter announcing "this would be huge" and "brilliant business replacing Chair and Willock with Richards and Roberts". Absolute lunatics, what on earth have they been watching all season, because it certainly hasn't been this binfire.

It's the Cbeebies demographic of football supporter for whom it's all about signings.

It doesn't matter if the player isn't very good, if the player has been here all year and is sht, if he's injured, or anything really, it's a signing, and all signings are exciting and all signings are good and if you're not signing you're not doing it right. Signings are more important and exciting to this demo than the games, the results, the financial health of the club, anything really. It's just all about signings. Signings signings signings. The sort of people who talk about Nottingham Forest "winning the transfer window". The sort of accounts who start and/or follow @TheSecretAgent accounts every January, pretending to be ITK, and constantly ask said account if there's any "news", hanging on every word.

They'll also be the first accounts @ing Tyler directly calling him every name under the sun when it turns out he's a mentally deficient crock, and demanding another signing to replace him. Happened exactly this way with Austin - all the accounts that were posting the hilarious "nan stays in the cage until Austin signs" memes in June were leathering into him, and his wife, by September.

Roberts is fertile ground to this demographic because he's the sort of signing who looks really good on Football Manager, or Fifa. I bet he's got some great numbers on there. What Football Manager and Fifa don't have a is a grading for how much of a cnt you are. This is something we've fallen down on quite dramatically in our recruitment this season.

So, is there actually any truth in this story of us purchasing him for £500k? 🤔

Does anyone know how much we have to pay for Taylor Richards if we stay up?
