I want some of what he's on. :)

My mate is an Ipswich fan and went to the game. Naturally he's delighted by how they've started but he did say he gelt they stole the points today. He thought we played well.

Never knowingly right.

Doesn’t he remind you of “Brilliant” off the Fast Show,

I get that he’s enthusiastic, and excited, and, frankly, good for him, genuinely, good for him, but it just doesn’t sit right that he seems so delighted after we’ve lost…….again…..for the third time in four this season……without scoring…..again ……for the third time in four this season…..after last season….. and with a half fit squad…… because, apparently having the entire squad half fit is the solution to the muscle injury problem. He was the same after Norwich.

To be clear, I like GA, I think he’s been handed a very sh1tty stick and is giving it a good go. But, he doesn’t help himself does he?

Does he really believe we can go to the South Coast and beat Southampton I want some of those pills .
Seriously he is full of energy and passion but we lost 3 out of the first 4 games and following up on last Spring its nowhere close enough.I would take 1 win before the International or 2 ugly draws even but praying we get something .

I agree it feels like he's coaching an U8's team and addressing the parents. We keep losing games. We can't keep talking about luck and being fitter. That should have been addressed weeks ago.

Maybe he’s taking a couple of steps back and comparing Last season to this season and seeing four youngsters come in and hold their own, Armstrong play like Les Ferdinand for 60mins and (while I stand by my frustration at being in a position which precipitated needing to sign Cook) some leadership at the back and through the team.

…he’s said that he thinks we’ll kick on after the international break - maybe when Dunne and Dykes are back and Willock / Chair have provided some cash for his signings?

I'm fast becoming a morning after poster... as I'm getting too angry to post.... post match
OK Armstrong was unlucky we should have gone one up... the Chair chip was a joy to see... and we did okish for 50 odd minutes... but how can a bunch of professional footballers be f ucked after 50 minutes 3 games into a season... what on earth is going on at this club?
Even if Armstrong had scored I still think Ipswich would have had enough in their tank to beat us...
I'm fast losing faith that we will ever score again let alone win at home in my lifetime
I'm not going to have a go at the players ... and this .... building up gently because of hamstrings.... is BS... what are other clubs doing that we are not...
This sits squarly with GA and his team
How is it a 20 Yr old can't run around for 90 minutes and is blowing out his @rse after 50... I know it is a standard above what most of us have ever dreamed of playing... but these lads have the best of everything fitness, nutrition medical... at 20 I was playing 3 games a week... after a rub down with the sporting life... a pint of light and bitter and a chip sandwich

Armstrong has a 100m Atheletes body and we can now see why he has been used sparingly. I don't think he can currently do a full 90min game and Ainsworth fully knows this. The lactic acid the lad must build up after a couple of full on sprints is hard to manage and I am not sure what can be done by the physio team.

And to reiterate the point, playing the game without the ball expends far far more energy than playing when we have the ball. Only Chair seems to have the natural fitness to do it

I have literally zero knowledge of fitness and its coaching and training, but that's never stopped me having an opinion before, so here I go.

It's the boy's career. His entire lifetime's goals. He is very talented and could be a brilliant addition to us or a lucrative selling one.

So spend some money, hire the right people, find some guru, that lets him run around for 90 minutes like pretty much every other professional footballer has been able to do for the last 50 years.

That's management, leadership, directing of football, isn't it? SOMEONE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY SORT IT OUT.

He just comes out with the same waffle after every defeat, It'll be the same next Saturday after we've lost at Southampton.

Drivel.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

I do understand what your saying... but he is not a professional sprinter he wants to be a professional footballer.
I understand that a young body still developing needs to be nutured and his physique and mass makes him more difficult to work with... but we have had him 4 years now and surely by now we should have had him in a place where he can contribute more than 60 minutes?
But it is not just him Kakay was down with cramp... and by 70 minutes most of the team were struggling, this can't be right.
OK argue that because of our limitations we have to press harder, run more, Harry more, but there are teams though all leagues that have to do this and last longer than us Barnsley a couple of years back come to mind.
For me there is something wrong here

Gaffer on tonight's defeat on 11:25 - Aug 20 with 2022 viewsE17hoop

I assume the people unhappy with GA want him to say how disappointed he is with the team, how we deserved to lose, and to make sure we know he's told the team how poor they were, because that's going to motivate them isn't it?

Go back and have a look at Critchley's post match interviews and compare how flat and passionless they are to GA. I assume we don't want to hear any positives from our manager.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

Equally, we weren’t doing any more running than Ipswich were.

I think it’s more to do with half our defence not having a proper pre season or haven’t played much this year. Paal was fine, illy was still chasing the keeper down in the 94th minute. Field’s was a collision injury. Smyth looked fine too me.

Bare bones.

I get that Ainsworth's almost relentless positivity can grate after defeats but I think he is genuinely pleased with how two under strength line-ups, featuring quite a few youngsters, have performed. Many of us predicted heavy defeats in the last two games, after all.

That said:
- The fitness issues are worrying. We need players to be capable of playing the full game
- At the very least, we need some sort of a striker, even if it's on loan.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

No, not at all, but there’s a difference between pointing out the positives in defeat, and bouncing around like a three year old on Christmas Day, after yet another goalless defeat.

Like I say, I like him, feel for him, but he’s coming across as delusional. If that’s what he’s like in public, I strongly suspect that’s what he’s like behind closed doors. The players will see through it and, again, it’s going to impact his credibility with them.

The most concerning thing for me is the notion that our team only being fit enough to play for 60 mins at the moment, in a season where games are regularly going to 100, is some sort of deliberate strategy to avoid muscle injuries. Essentially the only way we're going to win is being far enough ahead after an hour for the opposition not to make it back - just about the case at cardiff but a hell of a strategy for a team that hasn't scored three goals in a game for nearly a year.

Not going to be easy on the nerves of the fans if that is the strategy there Clive.
Sadly scoring 2 or 3 goals looks like an impossible task right now as you rightly point out so maybe it get one then park the bus .God help us.
Did anybody see Spain finish off that game today it was pretty impressive for a nuetral point of view .We could use that system but nobody can run the fulllength of the field and back after 75 minutes it looks like .
Maybe the new fitness guru will come good with his methods down the road but now it looks hopeless
