True. The squad is falling to pieces. We have a lot of players trying to step up and others with experience okay but not entirely match fit. Dieng however looks like the one real deal.
I can't see the point in sacking MW. He has to improve 18 wins in 59 is not a good record but last season we played some great stuff. However he can't seem to motivate them through a pandemic whilst other clubs are playing on with no issues.
Without Amos, Thomas and with Cameron lacking legs, BOS being a knob, Wallace out and Manning gone the squad is completely lopsided with very few players to fill in. |  |

That's the problem.
With no money coming in, a a new squad, without 50+ of last season's goals , I'm not sure any manager would get any further.

I wouldn't blame warburton for tonight personally. We started very brightly. Dickie's mistake cost us badly. Apart from taking carroll off instead of chair, I can't see what else warburton could have done - at 10 men we are chasing the game. At least we attempted to go for it. Dykes chased every ball....... Dieng was definitely a positive.

Even with all that, Bosh, the first 20 showed the players we started win were FAR better than Barnsley and we still lost 3-0. More is at play here.

Sometimes I think people aren't going to be happy until we have Tony Pulis in charge and spend £8 million on someone like Sam Vokes. This is hilarious, eight games in and the usual panic when everything's not rosy in the garden. 10 days ago Warburton was a tactical genius against high-flying Bournemouth. McClaren is often castigated for stunting the progression of the likes of BOS and Manning by shipping them out for his 'team of men'. But the reason he did was because of exactly this kind of reaction to the WBA and Bristol City results two years ago.
Relax, it's not even November, nobody was ever relegated in October (or November)

Pearson would be my preferable and I don’t see why he wouldn’t. He’s a very underrated coach. Focused on marginal games. Good tactician (he built the system not just the players for Ranieri). Unemployed. Maybe looking for a Prem job, but doubt he’s really in the running for any.
To be clear, I don’t want Warburton sacked. Not yet. There was more than enough there in the first 20 to give him 3-5 games. However, we need at least one win in there, and goals and signs of improvement. If he doesn’t get 1 win from 3 or 2 from 5 and one of the other two things, I think we have to make the change. | | | |

Management change before Christmas reeks of panic and, poor as we were today, we're not close to that. Most of these players have been together for eight games, maximum. Unless we're in the bottom three or four in December then we shouldn't even be thinking about firing the manager. There are reasons for optimism (though they were hard to see this evening.) Willock looks handy, perhaps a better bet than Bonne to partner Dykes. Dickie will, with luck, learn that he can't get away with the stuff at this level he's used to. Mostly we have a decent squad with potential, but they're having to learn to be a team on the job. There are going to be bad days (today and Coventry) and better ones (Bournemouth.) We can't do much to physically support the team, but we can be patient. | | | |
