QPR slip further into the mire with dire Brum loss - Report on 16:54 - Mar 19 with 5085 viewsBushRanger82

All I can say is, thank the Lord we have 2 weeks away from them.
That throw in from Dykes, I'm sat in the Stanley Bowles stand, slap bang in front of it, so my view of it was completely clear, it will haunt me for the rest of my life.
That a so-called professional footballer can take such a bad throw-in, in our colours, just sums up this increasingly wretched season for me.

A season that promised so much has literally collapsed.

A quick look at our remaining fixtures and honestly I can't see where the hell anymore points are going to come from or indeed If we'll ever score a goal again this season, Is that OTT? no I don't think so.

Leave me out of It, I'm still pissed off about yesterday's performance never mind the bloody result, the results are crap and the performances are even worse.

Come back and call me out all you want If I'm wrong but as I said somewhere else yesterday the minute Birmingham scored yesterday we were relegated.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Let's face it Wigan away is perhaps one of the biggest games in the club's history for years. Win that somehow and we have 7 games to find another win. I can't see us getting anything out of Norwich, West Brom or * Burnley (*unless we put Man City in hoops for the day). Knowing us we'll get 2 points, be all but down and then somehow save ourselves at Stoke (who may be on holiday) and at home to Bristol City (ditto).

Even Radio5 commented on how spectacular our demise has been. We've moaned about being consistent and now we are consistently sh*t. We've moaned about getting results and now we specialise in losing. At the moment we could play on our own against no one at all and be one down after 5 minutes.

Never knowingly right.
Poll: How long before new signings become quivering wrecks of the players they were?

Dreadful Birmingham side. Dreadful is nailed on to beat us now so no surprise.
Lowe needs to take a long look in the mirror after that performance.
He was lucky to get a 3.

Not much difference to Dieng regularly kicking it straight into the Paddock a number of times or loads of free kicks/crosses sailing into the Loft.

That too, was pretty dreadful.

On the evidence of yesterday, Armstrong has to start.

Yet, I can't help feeling that he would give more impetus coming on against tiring defenders (yes , I know, we don't do much to tire them) than competeing with them from the first minute. Especially as he would probably be asked to play deeper unless replacing Dykes or Martin.

I did gain two (minor) positives yesterday - Dickie being taken off & Dixon-Bonner appearing on the pitch. That wasn't much consolation though!

Armstrong WILL start next game, not sure why it has taken GA so long to start him when you consider he played that beast of a man (cant remember his name) up front at Wycombe.

Not saying Armstrong is a good player because he isn't but he deserves a start,,,,

Was I imagining it but did they say on the Beeb that Man City have scored more goals in their last three home games than we have managed in 6 months?

I have spent much of this season complaining about the lack of goals down the Loft end all season. Even when we were scoring down the away end and winning games in the first half, I was still berating our inability to score in the second half. Now we don't score at either end at home...

Akinfenwa was a very different kind of player. An absolute brick wall of a man who could hold up the balls pumped up to him and bring others into the game.

Armstrong gets you off your seat unlike the rest of those painting by numbers players out there on Saturday.

If we are going to play ball over the top then he’s going to cause far more havoc than anyone else up front. If only he had a pair of shooting boots.

Akinfenwa is a lump who puts it around on the pitch, strong, physical, horrid to play against, Armstrong is similar as well ...yea Armstrong can run more but they are not too indifferent, imho......

I genuinely can't think of two players more different

Armstrong is a pure straight line sprinter, with the first touch and ball control of a shed.

Akinfenwa was a bodybuilder who could hold up the ball, but had the mobility of a shed.

I guess they both do have shed like attributes in common...

Can we not knock it?

Good report and I agree with it. So poor on the quality front, anyone remotely interested in putting their foot on the ball and passing it on the deck looked like Pirlo out there. I thought the decision not to introduce Armstrong earlier was a poor one. Never did I imagine that by this point in the season we'd be trying to save ourselves with an attack of Martin and Dykes. We needed to mix it up on Saturday and took far longer that it should to have tried something different - at least if you play a long ball game, make sure you have someone that's going to cause problems running in behind.

What I will add though is that Chair, Willock, Roberts, Richards (wherever he may be), Steff (must not be fit enough to start), were all unavailable and are all guys that like to get the ball to feet and either use it intelligently (Steff) or make things happen. I'm hoping what we've seen from this Ainsworth Team is because of circumstances and that when the famous "Cavalry" does finally appear, we employ a method which adds a bit more guile to our approach play. At the moment, it's terrible.

I have said that Armstrong can run......I know Akinfenwa does not run around as much.

Of course they are not exactly the same but as I say......strong ( I certainly would not want a 50/50 with either of them even when I was young!!), physical (they are both pretty tough and put around), horrid to play against (they both make it very difficult for defenders).....

If you don't think that they are somewhat similar then sobeit - I certainly do in many of their ways and I would have thought GA would have given him much more game time - 15 minutes on Saturday!!!

Totally different, why??

10 corners, probably half a dozen at least crosses into the box, another handful of free kicks and yet two, maybe three actually got anywhere near a QPR player in the penalty area. Shocking.

It's hard to identify anybody who played well.
Dieng - 1 great save but distribution poor
Adomah - 80% of crosses straight into Ruddy's hands. Missed tackle exposed ...
Dickie - far too slow to cut off the cross
Dunne - bossed by Jutkewicz. Couple of feeble attemppts at goal
Kakay - lost Chong for goal. Kept turning into right foot so crosses weren't effective
Field- well down on challenges. Poor position and could for obvious yellow
Amos - 60% pass completion. V rusty
Iroegbunam - 1 last ditch tackle + usual ixture of elegant striding forward and no defensive nous
Lowe - was he playing?
Martin - failedbto get anything from Brum defence
Dykes - that throw! Couple of weak attempts on goal. Usual chasing down and some link up play
Stef - clearly not fit enough
Drewe - not disgraced but offered little when we were pressing
Armstrong - best player in hoops, despite short time. Looked a threat.
