Some one saying on WATRB that the Supreme court has thrown out the appeal placed against us and Warren Farm is a goer! Good news if true!

The oppo group may be active but isnt it a done deal now?
permission granted, appeals and final appeals thrown out etc?

Confused.com here on this now.

Yes, they've run out of legal routes, bar this rather tenuous and subjective thing they've started now.

For those who forget quickly, Clives notes on WF from the November Fans Forum

The opposition group is still very, very active.

My philosophy is now not to give up any information.

Given that the opposition group has taken it all the way to the High Court and lost, you have to wonder whether there remains a genuine threat or if Hoos is withholding information to protect a hidden board agenda. After all, Tony has threatened to pull the plug on more than one occasion. The best way to mitigate the threat is to get on with it.

The only thing they can really do now is to disrupt the actual development by real action, blocking or slow walking the trucks, locking on etc.

but they can't do that until we actually start sending the trucks in. then we will see how "active" these protesters really are

Depends on who the "people" and "they" are doesn't it.

If this project had been done properly from the start with proper Neighbourhood Engagement and so on then we'd be in occupation and possibly turning out our third Eze type by now.

If they were 100% serious NOW then it would be a hive of activity and we'd be lauding it's opening by X date and saying to prospective talents etc "this is the place to be in West London"

We're not.
You believe what you like on that front but past conduct tells me a lot

Don't think we are going to agree on this but the club took the brash "we are going to get this done" approach on Old Oak Common and that backfired spectacularly. Maybe, they've learnt their lesson? First time for everything.

Wouldn't an email to Mr Hoos be more enlightening than pages and pages of teeth gnashing and guesswork?

I tried that on another topic, shared it with the board (our board, not the club's), and, judging by the reaction of some here, you'd have thought I'd have farted in the Pope's face!

Amazing to me how TF is ridiculed on a daily basis, while some people seem to think Hoos could not possibly have an agenda of his own. The latter has said, if he does nothing else at/for QPR, he wants to get the training ground delivered, so he's (apparently) staked his reputation on it. Why, then, do I (and it seems now others) start to feel Warren Farm is all some kind of political smokescreen, and the 'real' business is to ditch Loftus Road and rebuild on another profitable bit of London/suburban real estate, whatever it does to the soul/DNA of the club?

Mind you, I'm naive, agenda-ridden, and a very strange person, apparently.

They did the same here.

Rather than adopt the tried and tested engagement route with potential agitators they pushed on and rolled out a glossy magazine with some fantastic CGI's etc, etc and said "this is happening".

I dont recall any local consultation meetings, any environmental impact study / thesis coming out at inception.

I can't recall exactly but maybe this was another of Phil Beard's little pigeons? If so then yet again the Bungle Brothers were in full flight on that one!!!!
Hoos does seem to have a far more grounded and process driven approach (to most things) but he also seems keen to engage and say "we have hurdle X and we are attempting to jump it by Y which will give us Z". The fact there is zero in the way of any engagement or message from him or the club must surely concern even the most positive fan on this one????????

There is absolutely zilch on the Construction jungle drums on this either - by now requests for expressions of interest or even Invitations To Tender would be out in the market place. I must admit I don't deal with the various specialist sportsfield contractors very often but even so.......

As Mr Keegan once said "I would love it, love it" if this comes off and I'd be really positive about the medium term future of the club. If the scheme does get traction before the next Ice Age then I'd also recommend the club steer clear of those involved in the new Grasshoppers Sports Club Development which has been done just around the corner from Warren Farm. The overspend on that scheme was eye watering and totally un-necessary, be robust in your procurement!
Incidentally..... that scheme got legs in 2016 and was finished late 2018 / early 2019 alongside a huge new Sikh School. Amazing how these things can happen when approached right and with positive energy.

Time the fans took matters into their own hands...trousers. Anyone local should start taking walks over there, tie rope around their strides legs, fill up with dirt then casually stroll down to Norwood Green dropping and kicking soil around as they go. Great idea, or was it the Great Escape?

Concerned, yes. Irritated by the long time it's taking? Certainly. But just not at the point where I'm willing to jump out of a window or try and harrass someone at the club (Hoos) who I think has been one of the main positives at the club over the last few years. He's done more than enough in other matters to win my trust here and he will continue to get it until the negatives of his time at the club outweigh the positives

Well we have to possibly company’s already sponsoring rh club who will prob be involved in the training gro’und/ new ground Gcl major player in London building and boss used to .have a box at Loftus road and the aggregates company who are also sponsors of some type at the club , so wouldn’t imagine the main contracts will go out to tender , only the actual pitch work etc prob

I don't think anyone is blaming Hoos.(apart from Stainrods elbow) He could be just as frustrated with his employers as some of us are, for all we know.?
I'm certainly not thinking about jumping out of windows and i'm not losing sleep over this either. But questions need to be answered from our owners if we are to take what they said seriously. If its a money issue than fine but don't lead our fans down the garden path like they have since they first stepped foot through the door of our club. Like Lblock says, history tells you all you need to know about TF no matter how likeable he comes across on the tele.
He isnt the worst football club owner in the world , i think we all get that but he's certainly not the best QPR owner we could have. If his heart isn't in it then what's the point in him being here when im sure there's other mad billionaires that have some sort of ambition to drive a football club forward. There have been huge positives at the club, Hoos, Ferdinand, Ramsey but they are not going to be around forever. This club really does need some proper foundations built in to keep our club going because its very clear we are being taken over by other clubs that a few years ago wasn't even on our radar. I think this training ground is essential for our club because a certain bus stop is going to start getting local talent and dare i say it new young fans stopping off there..

Im just flexing my message board rantometer . :)

Don't get smart

No seriously it's about finance.

Serious question: How do you *know* it's about finance?

By the way, I have sent a personal message to David McIntyre, via Twitter, to see if he has an update.

I also saw a comment - perhaps completely untrue - stating that given all the opposition to WF, the club is deliberately taking a low profile approach, to try to avoid stirring up yet more opposition from the "we want to continue to be able to let our dogs annoy ground-nesting birds" crowd.

PS: SWF recently posted video footage of a short eared owl (quite rare) at WF. I wouldn't be surprised if they hired a falconer/owl sanctuary owner for a day just so they could create the footage. What next? A thylacine?

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

We won the appeal in November 2018.

The hold up is due to the owners.

That's only a year ago. As others have previously said there's huge amounts of time consuming work to be done which couldn't start until the case was over.

What's your take on Brentford fans holding things up for 7 years, that's the issue? We could have had it built and running by now.

Don’t feed the troll Juzzie!
The ongoing delay is nothing to do with brentfart cùnts or SWF wånkers.....I am convinced it is everything to do with our owners having spùnked all the money away and not wanting to put any more cash into the club. How often do any of the owners even attend our games these days?
