What a deluded club. Reckon we’ll see them back in the championship next season.

Poll: Where will we finish up next season?

Stevie-Gee (Urrmmm Ermmmm) set to take over then?

I remember when a manager had to prove himself, what must other guys think when they see the likes of Stevie and Frank Lamp get top jobs?

To be fair to Gerrard he's done a great job at Rangers, a huge club with its own insane microclimate of pressure, and taken them to a level more established managers before him (including our own Warbs) haven't managed to.

The Rangers job is akin to driving Formula 1 when you have one of only two Formula 1 cars and everyone else is driving a hot hatch.

This is true to an extent, but it also makes it so much easier to fail, and more high profile and damaging when it doesn't go well, so you really just have to give him credit for making it work up there.

Its all very well having the best car/best tools - but you still have to do the job and deliver. There's a reason Lewis Hamilton has had so much more success at Mercedes than Valterri Bottas, and again how many times do you see managers go into big clubs that should be miles clear and make a huge mess of it? Quite often. John Barnes didn't do so well out of managing Celtic, is a very good example!

on the flipside, Neil Lennon won a lot up there, was dreadful down here. Strachan a God up there, couple of half decent seasons down here but nothing amazing. Even Walter Smith was fairly average at Everton.
Ian Holloway got a well-funded QPR side promoted from League One, but no one was suggesting him for a Villa job at the time.

Bare bones.

That is very true as well Antti and the proof will ultimately be in the pudding as they say. But he has certainly proved himself a lot more than Lampard has and I think at this stage its a bit harsh on him to compare the two - he does deserve credit for the job he's done up there - he has succeeded where a lot of others have ultimately failed.

And in fairness to Lennon his one job in England was at Bolton, who were in their spiral downwards at that point. His record isn't great reading at all (I did just look it up) but again - the club was a mess to be fair to him.

Will have to disagree, he won one trophy out of nine, in three seasons, in a league akin to our championship with many below that , besides one other, spending a whole lot doing it in relevance to the minnows surounding him.

Horrible individual to boot, just another to add to the 'crash and burn list'.

tbf how can we know how it feels? I think the last time someone poached our manager was probably... Jim Smith?
It might really hurt. If it happened to us I might burn my Warbs Bald Wig I wear to bed.

Great point was made by Darren bent (I know!) when someone called TalkSport and was claiming Villa weren't as big as Rangers.
He asked them if Dean Smith would've left Villa for Rangers and was met by silence.
Not one of the 20 managers in the Premier League would leave their current job to manage in Scotland

That's brilliant. Fu ck knows how that bloke would react if he ever got dumped. This is not a man who handles rejection well. So many things to love - the fact that he filmed himself doing that, the fact he's in a carpet shop, the fact he has a Stevie G tribute wall after one trophy etc. But the best thing about all of that is the disappointed look on Gerrard's face, as his portrait lies there on the floor, with shattered glass all about him. Like a disappointed parent looking back at the fuming Rangers carpet man, saying, "Really?"

Even Warburton, Mark.

He still gets Rangers fans stalking his or the QPR Twitter sites slagging him off, even though he got them promoted and maintains he was sacked, and didn't leave.
