Sad to see Ball go, but as a model professional and seemingly very decent bloke, understand he will want 1st team football and he no doubt recognises that will be limited with Field and maybe Amos ahead of him in the 2,
Played with the desire of an R's fan and was a key player at a difficult time. A credit to himself and someone the fans should remember fondly.

Another pi55poor decision from a club that, in just a few months, has become unrecognizable.
Add the manner in which they have treated players and Warbs to the fact that Sky has rendered buying a season ticket all but pointless (if you struggle to travel to HQ mid week) and we might well start seeing more empty seats.

Dom just on Talk shite promoting his book, what a superb orator he is . Spent much of his spare time doing a business degree, really got his head screwed on.
Would have been better served playing him and not bothering with Sanderson.
Says he is in talks with several Champ clubs. DB looks like a Luton sort of signing to me in the way he gives his all and can do simple things well

Probably talking to Birmingham as well, if the rumors about Warburton heading there are true.

Yes, just heard that.
Seems if you say you are enjoying your time at the club (Warburton, Austin, Ball) you're out!
Looked extremely comfortable at CB last weekend. Agree that Luton will probably pick him up.

But it was Warburton who didn't pick him second half of the season? While I agree Field is the better player of the two, there were times - against Sheff Utd in particular - when he would have been really useful. Strange.

Barely played this season but probably one of my favourite players! No idea how much he’s on but surely his ability to play in defence and midfield combined with fact he’s a “good pro”…..got to be a no brainer to keep in the squad

Got told this week that Dom Balls old agent that got the boot was Warburtons son. Not sure how true that is and haven't seen anything on here so probably false. Just another rumour to throw about I guess.?

Disappointed not to see an extension for him - I would also add that I have just finished his book and well worth the read. Its about him and 6 friends and their stories on how they came through Youth Football - some with success others not and one who tragically died in 2021 of a rare form of bone cancer - all proceeds go to Sarcoma UK charity - so if nothing else the money goes to a great cause.

That's been doing rounds for a while as a reason Warburton wouldn't pick him back when Warbs was the idiot getting everything wrong which has changed since he was sacked.
I'd have liked to see him play more but Field was excellent when he came in so hard to see where he could have played

Thought Dom Ball could always be relied on to do a decent job in midfield or central defence when called upon. That Cardiff screamer a highlight of his time at Rangers.

He will do well for them and become a fan favourite. Often managers say "our players are professionals", but he is a proper pro.
Always tried his best. Many times he came on and made a difference. Not massively so (apart from Cardiff) but always contributed. Should have been kept as would have cost buttons.
Ipswich will be wondering why we paid them £1m + Ball for Dozzel. Let's hope Dozza proves em wrong, a hard task with Ball going the other way.

Solid pro who gave his all. Despite his technical limitations he goes with my best wishes.

Agreed.
We may regret letting go of a player who could cover multiple positions and not cost a fortune. Not the best but a good solid pro.
Good luck at Ipswich.

Thanks Dom for your commitment to Rangers & good luck for your time in Suffolk.
He should be a good signing for Ipswich & I'm sure I will be asked about him by a number of their fans. I will give a positive response.
I might be alone, but I don't think he would have signed a new contract for us if he had been offered one. Playing was his priority & he wouldn't have been a regular in the starting eleven IMO.
For the first time in decades, I'm hoping that ITFC have a good season!

I would have kept him as cover - which probably, as others have said, isn't where he wants to be at this stage of his career. Bad decision to let him go? Well, it frees up some wages for the new manager. If we're going 4 at the back, we have centre back cover. We have ample midfielders, and he's not what we need at right back. So all in all, probably the right decision for all, taking the emotion out of it.

Dom Ball always gave his all Yoann Barbet always likes to play Albert Adomah never played for Roma Niko Hämäläinen one day his sun will be shining And if he was Welsh and born 100 years ago he’d be coal mining Jordy de Wijs worth twice the price Lyndon Dykes …
…crikes!
