New shirt sponsor on 11:14 - Jun 22 by BrianMcCarthy | That did occur to me too, Bazz, but I think this is ok providing there's no direct link to Grenfell or a similar act of negligence. After all, every industry has had accidents and incidents. We can't boycott all industries. |
The push for Luxury property development is the main reason that the Grenfell survivors remain unhoused and that legislation covering safety and cladding was cut. That’s before we get to gentrification and pushing life long working class Londoners out of the city. It’s poisonous and I’m very disappointed our club is associated with it. Makes us look two faced. If you read further, you’ll see the whole proposition is about building higher quality affordable housing. Making better quality properties for low income tenants. It’s not about replacing affordable housing with luxury housing. Surely that is a good thing? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Throwing council tenants out in exchange for £400,000 ‘affordable homes’ which are out of the reach of 90% of Londoners is not a good thing, no matter how much the eventual buyers (usually from Qatar, Russia, or China) feel like they are living in a Mayfair gold standard home. I’m not interested in a to or fro here to be honest Hunter but this has been a well covered issue for decades now so have this discussion with Google not me.

They seem ok based on my 3 mins of research... could maybe ease up in the MLK as inspiration referencing.. "It’s poisonous and I’m very disappointed our club is associated with it. Makes us look two faced." Can I suggest you withdraw your support fot the club during the term of this sponsorship? It might make you feel better, maybe write to the club giving your reasons.

glad its not another betting company but if the paper are right a property developer isnt going to be fairing to well in the coming months if the bubble does indeed burst in london on property prices

Obtained investment, so presumably this is just money earmarked as Marketing in the P&L, the source of which is PE most likely.

Yes, if you look for more info on the sites it takes you back to the front of that section again which is a bit odd. I am guessing that clients will be HAs or Councils rather than private individuals if it is Social Housing but they do look early in the cycle at the moment. It appears he has received investment to set up the business so must have a good plan or is well connected. Having worked for a housing developer they do require significant funding as all the money gets tied up in land and build costs initially. It takes a lot of developments to get cash rich and even then as they get bigger more cash is invested back into land etc.
New shirt sponsor on 16:26 - Jun 22 with 1550 views | Lblock | Absolute fair play to the fella. Local lad who has made good and sponsoring the club he clearly loves. It’s win win for him as he’s clearly worked hard, taken risks and they’ve paid off so now he can feel a bigger part of the R’s, have some fun along the way and in a tax efficient manner. QPR benefit clearly and it’s two locals helping each other. Hope the new shirts do him justice

No Baz, just no. Its a property developer that focuses on social housing (with no developments currently in London, let alone in Hammersmith or Kensington and Chels**t). Its unique selling point in a crowded market is quite the reverse of you talking points of the day, it apparently focuses on creating quality tech supported homes, rather than cheap stack em up quick boxes that many property developers do. I like what you do Baz and have sympathy with much of where you come from, but that is just poor and lazy.
