Hallescher friendly 09:58 - Jul 16 with 16112 views | terryb | Just a reminder that this is a 13.00 kick off. I think that is British time! I have noticed that Ipswich are playing two games in London today. Palace this morning & then on to Wimbledon. An alternative to playing different elevens in each half!

Hallescher friendly on 13:52 - Jul 16 with 4961 views | HAYESBOY | We are narrow and they have wing backs. We need to shut down the diag ball and push higher up the pitch. We keep getting done with the ball down the side as well. Chair getting hold of the game, you can see he is pissed off at being behind. This side look much better that the other side we played in the week. Not great from Paal for their goal in 15 secs. Kakay doing ok. JoJo not getting on the ball enough. Should of had a pen. Beale might bring on Shodipo for Uncs.

Hallescher friendly on 13:55 - Jul 16 with 4865 views | davman | So much analysis here over a pre-season game. Paal got caught out pussy footing around with his back to goal and our high press is probably hampered by the training Beale said our lot would do this morning. Positive was Bonne timed his run well and a great ball from Illias. Field is everywhere doing all the good stuff he did last season with just one loose ball on his right to Kakay. Ozzie looks a bit more at it, Chair getting on the ball... Of course, when the reserves get game time my Outlook will probably take a bit of a dive...

Hallescher friendly on 13:55 - Jul 16 with 4844 views | dmm | First half was surprisingly combative and a much better test than Wednesday's game. Hallesher are well set up and exploiting the spaces behind the FBs. They've posed problems we've not had in previous game, which is good. We look tired and it took a while to reset ourselves after their early goal. But gradually came into it. Nice goal made by Chair and finished well by Bonne. It's the 4th pre season game and I think we are seeing quite a bit of Beale's thinking. Johansen deep lying playmaker, but also Chair coming deep at times to pick up the ball and drive forward. High FBs, quicker and more progressive passing, less faffing about either side of the oppos penalty area. [Post edited 16 Jul 2022 14:02]

Hallescher friendly on 13:50 - Jul 16 by Northernr | V interesting game. First proper test and a lot of the traits we showed when under pressure away from home at the end of last season are here again. There aren’t enough goals in this team to do anything this season as it stands. |
How is your theory that Dieng is more capable of getting the FBs moving further up the pitch with his clearances, Clive?

Hallescher friendly on 13:57 - Jul 16 with 4824 views | stanistheman | Much better play from them as an attacking force. Still need to do better than this in midfield. I am aware that they are ahead of us in their pre season , but only by one week. We are a 2nd tier team compared to them a 3rd tier team. So I expect better from QPR and by the sounds of the commentator so does Beale. Unfortunately we don’t have much depth in our squad to change things much in the 2nd half. The best I can say for this is that Beale will need to get some more players in, especially in attack. Dykes , Bonne and Roberts and a fit again Willock will not be enough.
Hallescher friendly on 14:04 - Jul 16 with 4657 views | Welsh_Ranger | I'd like to see Shodipo second half and somebody else instead of Dozzell, maybe Duke or Thomas see if we can move the ball around the midfield more. It seams we are struggling to work the ball quick enough with the press. I also thought Chair should have released that pass quicker but what do i know! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Unfortunately no squad depth - probably a reasonable first eleven and a few subs but not much else.
Hallescher friendly on 14:55 - Jul 16 with 3352 views | dmm | This was a very useful game. Beale will have learned much from it. As others have indicated, He'll have seen there's a lack of quality in the squad. The first 11 are good though, particularly when all are fit, and we'll be further strengthened with a few more coming in.
Hallescher friendly on 14:58 - Jul 16 with 3295 views | stanistheman | That was very disappointing to watch in the 2nd half. Very little quality on the bench and having Owens, Thomas and Masterson as our back up midfield is going to hurt.
Hallescher friendly on 15:04 - Jul 16 with 3177 views | HAYESBOY | We got better at dealing with the diag balls to the wing backs and the balls down the channels for the first 20-30 mins and then the game petered out. Thought Bonne did well first half and Dykes may need to step up a bit if he wants to start. We still need a striker though. We also need a right back. Thought the middle 3 all did well. Shodipo looks the part when he sets off with the ball but then his decision making lets him down. Good workout out for the team, with Willock to come in to one of the no 10 places.

Hallescher friendly on 15:23 - Jul 16 with 2922 views | DannytheR | Just confirmed what we knew already in capital letters big enough to be seen from space, didn't it? We need another midfielder even with Amos still to come back. And the difference between a hard, dicey season and one that might actually be fun now and again is going to be finding a proper finisher down the back of someone else's sofa that they won't be needing this year. (Or getting our £2m back for Dykes and spending it on a professional footballer this time.) [Post edited 16 Jul 2022 15:25]

Hallescher friendly on 15:23 - Jul 16 with 2909 views | dmm | A lot of people seem to think Shodipo is looking good. For me, he still has the same problems he's always had and learned little from his loans out. He looks good running at a defence but 9 times out of 10 makes the wrong decision or leaves it half a second too late to pass or shoot. He may be useful on occasions off the bench but I'd not be concerned if he was off loaded or loaned out.
Hallescher friendly on 15:27 - Jul 16 with 2847 views | BazzeR | Johansen and Dozzell are too similar, neither are capable of beating an opponent with a trick to carry the ball from MF into an attacking area.

“Johansen deep lying playmaker, but also Chair coming deep at times to pick up the ball and drive forward” That my friend is how we played last season up until Field became available and Johansen was moved out of the deep lying role in favour of Field, who is one of the best combative midfielders in the league, but often can’t trap a ball and weak in the passing category. The wheels came off slick build up football at that point (circa late Nov)
