Up against Man City in the FFS that was offside FA Cup. I prepare to stand corrected but I think Charlie is still our player but as I take as much interest in modern football players contracts and transfers as I do in mobile phone contracts I could be wrong. Either way seems like a good lad and having a decent season with a club I like so up the O’s!
Up against a central defender today in Ruben Dias who’s worth approx £75 mil … would love to see Charlie meg him.

Have you seen a few of his games Benny ??
He is contributing all round and very good in link up and hold up.play too
Yes, those areas in particular have seen a big improvement. Strength conditioning is helping him hold the ball up under pressure. He also seems to enjoy dropping deep at times to get involved in the build-up play. Still lacking in raw pace mind but, given our dearth of options up front, it'll be interesting to see if Marti thinks Charlie has done enough to merit a go next season.

Watching this tonight for obvious reasons. Stevenage staff around the bench trying to fix things pre dressing room. Players out for the second half trying to work stuff out for themselves. Interesting.
Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Tough one: give him a go v. one season wonder?
The only thing I'd definitely look to do is see if LO would take Alfred for next season, especially if we decide to return Charles to our squad.
Richie Wellens isn't stupid. In terms of overall football ability, there's a chasm between Kelman and Lloyd. Leyton Orient try to play football into feet which requires forwards with better touch, control, movement and game intelligence than Lloyd. Lovely chap, but Lloyd doesn't fashion a goal in the manner that Kelman did last night.
It also costs them money to sign players on loan which they are short of and won't squander. They could have signed Kelman already, but they couldn't afford the relatively low fee we asked for him. Wellens mentioned it last night after the game.
Whether it's with us or not, Kelman will be playing championship football next season. Stansfield and Barry aside, neither of whom should be/have been playing in that league, he's the second highest goal scorer. I'll be amazed if a league one side with play-off aspirations takes Lloyd on loan next season.

Or, Wellens is a good manager, and doesn't want to write off Alfie on the back of a few cameo appearances and the odd start at a young age. I would wager that Alfie has achieved more and done more than Charlie did in his equivalent starts for us.
Young players can improve, no? And it would seem Orient is a good place to send them at the moment.

If he comes back and does well, he’ll be added to a growing list of players and dev players that Ferdinand is responsible but gets no credit for.
That's a fair point.
But how many of our young players have flourished since Ferdinand and Ramsey left the club?
Also, Kelman seems to have put on some muscle this season. Was this under the direction of Ben Williams? Or had we just written Kelman off and allowed Orient to do what they wanted with his development?

The downside being that if he does kick on then he will be in the last year of his contract and holding all the cards in any contract negotiation.
Would be interesting to know if Marti was at the game last night or has watched him at all this season.
While I strongly suspect you're right, I'm not sure we know how long Kelman's contract is for. Wasn't he the first one to fall under Christian's information blackout?

Good question - but given he's been there all season then either something has just clicked or he's really benefitted from their coaching.
Either way assuming he comes back, I hope he's not a League One version of Mike Sheron.
I guess the danger for the club now is his contract situation. His contract is up this summer but I guess we probably have a 1 year contract extension option in there.
The way he is playing this season you would expect he will be part of QPR plans for next season. Do QPR gamble and give him a new longer contract or do they risk it and potentially let him leave for free next season.

If we signed a L1 player scoring 15-20 goals there would be obvious excitement. Bit of no-brainer to sign him on multi year contract if we can and sell on if he can't make step up. How much would a 20 goal striker cost?

Exactly. You have to give him opportunities next season. His profile is what we’d be clamouring to sign in the summer. In this instance, he’s already out player.
The contract situation could mean he walks for a free in a year but none of us actually know what the length of his deal is.

Dave Mc did answer this on X last month - Kelman's contract not up this summer

THats good to hear about Kelman but who is this mystery player in the photo?
QPR have agreed a deal for Aberdeen’s teenage defender Timothy Akindileni but might have to wait until the summer for the signing to be rubber-stamped.
