Harsh. Think he's taken steps to address issues in recent weeks. Hamer was excellent and Mbengue made us a lot less stodgy going down the right hand side. Dembele was frustrating as always getting knocked off the ball but could easily have had a goal and an assist on another day. | |

That second half was terrible and I was hoping after a just above average first half we’d take it to them second half and beat a team clearly bereft of confidence.
Instead we came out and sat deep.
The subs were scandalous and how you could prefer Vale to Smyth I have no idea.
Having said that, I’d hope people can now see how poor our squad is and if Kolli can’t even make the bench with the paucity of alternatives up there then he should be putting in a transfer request.
Good job I’m only two beers deep otherwise I’d be rolling out the surrender monkey trope.

Julien has got himself all tied up. Five team changes every game is utterly ridiculous. Stick the team rotation where the sun doesn't shine and play your best 11. Everyone played ok today but ok doesn't win you three points.
Julien has to untie himself and figure out why our form has dropped. Ironically with players coming back from injury he has had more players to choose from.
As dmm said earlier Kone is getting bugger and all to work with, this guy scores goals so we need to be giving him chances.

Don't be fooled by the calm quiet talking and the smiling, Stephan I think is a bit of a beast behind the scenes. I think he is a lot tougher than any of us think. I don't think he takes any sh*t off any of the players and we're kind of seeing that in who gets selected and who doesn't. Recent results have not been good but they did at least fight and arrest that a bit today. I think he's potentially a lot stronger character than Marti was in terms of riding storms. We have to give him time.

1 or 2 changes due niggling injuries, tactical or form I totally get, but this incessant 5 or 6 changes per game is madness and killing us. I always thought a good team was built on partnerships to create understanding.
In a way we want more injuries to stop this continual rotation, and it's no surprise our best run came when he couldn't meddle as much.
As for Kone, well, only QPR would buy a sought-after goal scorer and play him deep.
I think JS is trying to be clever. Look at me with the team rotation, inverted wingers, CM at LB, and ST as 10. | |

Hamer for Nardi.
Switching Dunne and M'Bengue
Cook for Morrison
Field for the unavailable RND
Dembele was good.
Varane was good.
I'd have preferred Smith or Saito to Vale as sub and Kolli or Benny to Frey. But I think the point was ok reckon SU will be beating a few others and climbing the table. | | | |

I just can't envisage a reason why you'd have brought Frey on yesterday. Possibly a bit of height at set pieces, but other then that, he offers nothing.
That game was there for the taking and we bottled it. It beggers belief that if you're playing Kone deeper, that you think Frey can replace him at any stage of a game, especially one where its winnable, and he'll increase your chances of victory.
Overall, we got what we deserved. Anyone who goes there currently with a bit more determination will also leave with their dues and that'll be three points.
I wonder if Kone up top and Burrell out on the right might see us better utilise their assets?
Thought Chair had a far better game and Dembele shows why he should play one minute and why he shouldn't the next. |  |

What he's not grasped, which Marti eventually did, is that games in England are played to the last second. Marti said in interview once, that if a side were two-down after 65 minutes, that was game over on the continent. In England, that's not the case and if anything, it's often getting started.
Jules need to grasp that and realise that closing shop early is often more dangerous than prudent. Also somewhat ironic that after 70 minutes, we also seem to be rather leggy! | |
