Attrocious refereeing.
Thought the ref was awful for the entire game. Cordoba basically went through Burrell on at least 2 occasions, shoulder into back, completely flooring him and the ref gave nothing. Gave lots of soft free kicks to Norwich but then didn't give us the same.
The Norwich number 7 was also continually hitting people in the back late whilst pretending to challenge for headers, several dives rewarded with free kicks. Then in the last few minutes he decided not to give anything - we culd have had a penalty, they could have had one, Mbengue could have got a yellow for a foul on the half way line - the ref was a complete joke.

I didn't think the first half was too bad, but once they got ahead we had no answer to the time wasting. I do think today part of the problem is the 4-4-2. I think the reason more teams play 4-2-3-1 now is you have that extra body in midfield. Kone and burrell weren't able to hold the ball up and the extra man got Norwich possession time and again. That and our wide players weren't that great, which negates what advantages 4-4-2 brings
Agree with that. Kone is a waste of a shirt right now, frankly, and is hardly in the team on merit, which I think itself drags us down. Burrell looked tired and listless alongside him, and who can blame him, really?
Absolutely lamentable lack of defending for their first - they had three unmarked players, all of whom might have scored. What the f*ck is Steve Bould being paid not to do?
Smyth - literally no ball in that 1st half Madsen - too often too deep, and back to his poncey, pony self Saito - provided nothing when he came on
Mbengue probably the best of a very bad bunch, and just sad for him that his piledriver meant nothing. He looked like a beaten man when he scored.
JS and his players need a collective rocket up their arses.

I think we need to start checking out the lower reaches of the table. I fear a rather rapid fall from grace. We need a properly annoying championship battler Of the Colbeck or Ball variety to balance the skilful but lightweight players we have in abundance.
We do. Hayden for Varane was a step in the right direction today, but we were still short. There's no point in playing two up at home when they clearly can't play together to any effect, or we can't service them in dangerous positions. I don't think Kone can properly deliver at this level - or at least not yet.
That was pretty awful and it takes quite a lot for me to say that. I thought he'd picked the right side as well today but even that didn't work. The endless inability to beat teams at the bottom of the table and make them look half decent isn't very good. After Leicester it felt like we had a platform to really do something but for some reason they really have fallen asleep at the wheel in the last few games.

That first goal straight from the off in the 2nd half. I just knew it was going to happen as soon as it went out wide. Our body language when we came out for the second half was poor. No one looked ready or aware of the danger as soon as they won the ball.
Just a shocking performance all round.
Rangers Bingo #110: Conceding within the first minute of the 2nd half.
You could see it coming as soon as we lost a tackle in midfield and they broke away. Cook ball-watching, allowing Sargeant to pull away from him. Then the only way he was not going to score was if his own bloke got in the way.
I know we play the self-defeating “Charity Park Rangers” card a bit much, but we have conceded goals straight after HT like this for as long as I can remember. How on earth can they come out for the 2nd half and just let Norwich walk through them so easily. Tw4ts
I need a SAGA. What’s the SAGA? It’s ….. Queen’s Park Rangers.

I’ve rarely been more pissed off by a performance. How a bunch of players with a shot at the playoffs can play which such little urgency and commitment until we’re losing, I’ll never know.
A huge number of them need to dropped for a good while now.
Hayden, Kolli and Morgan to start.
And for the love of god STOP PLAYING 442 - it’s run its course. Burrell and Kone are not good enough to warrant it.
And I’ve rarely changed my opinion on a player but Saito has just lost every part of his game that made him a talent. He needs a good long run out of the team to sort his shiz out. He’s abysmal atm
Maybe Saito's English has improved and he now thinks we're all dickheads.

At the risk of coming over all stainrod, when you sack off winnable games against Pompey and West Brom to focus on home games v Norwich and Sheff Wed and then get trounced by Norwich, you are rather making a rod for your own back.
That will leave terrible stains…you’ll never get them out.
Maybe try Cameron Diaz’s hair ?
Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Wouldn't it be something if just one of these shysters had the balls to man up after the game and say (if you're Cooke or Dunne or whof*cking ever), 'yes, their first goal was pitiful, I wasn't doing my job, and that's on me'? Or perhaps someone could find Steve Bould and ask him how he feels about stealing a living at lil ol' QPR.
Standards, yeah, right! But what about some real accountability?
Felt we were going to lose this one before I got there. 1st half definition of scrappy. Only Hayden did ok, both wingers poor again. But throughout the team, if there was a wrong decision to be made we made it, or our execution in the basics of controlling the ball and passing were woeful. Then we got worse 2nd half!
I thought Burrell had a real stinker needs to get closer to Kone. Have to say I am pretty underwhelmed with Poku.
Lets hope for better on Sunday but given it’s Sheffield Wed who are a bogie team I don’t hold much hope

Yes I said as much on page one of the thread. You can’t just switch on and off performances like a tap. You try to win EVERY game. You won’t of course, but you TRY. Trying takes EFFORT. No effort evident since the final whistle v Leicester.

I was at the game. There was no lack of effort from any player. There were poor and/or tired performances from some. There was also some good or reasonable performances from Hayden, Kolli, Nardi, Madsen, Mbengue and Kone. Smyth's pace is wasted when he has to cut in from the left and when he is trying to stop an opponent he needs to stop diving in and missing. Stay on his feet and keep with him. Burrell looks shattered, has lost his zip. Fatigue caught up with Jimmy and Norwich kept forcing him inside onto his left foot. ND also tired. Dembele tried hard but little came off. Poku ditto. Morgan caught a bit of whatever Vale had on Monday.😁

Exactly - my older brother took me to Rs games, in the mid fifties when I was about half past five. If I'd said, one day they'll take it easy in some games in order to be better prepared for other games he'd have thought I was bonkers.

Agree with all of that , effort was not our problem today, guile and execution were.

Also at the game and would agree with this. Kone played target man really well in first half. Winning ball laying it off etc. Hayden also looked good. Broke up play well and played simply. Agree with others that we are missing Chair. We are very rushed in final third and just kept giving the ball to them or kicking it out for a goal kick. Chair's technical ability gives him that bit more time and this creates space for others. Today was bad but worryingly nowhere near as bad as WBA. Have to say Josh Sargents movement was really good and not surprised he scored.

Twice in the space of little more than a month, we let a team in the relegation zone show us up. Norwich must wish they could play us every week. I'm surprised their fans didn't sing that. It's a good job we haven't a cat in hell's chance of going up. If Norwich can do that to us, twice in one month, I shudder to think what far better sides in the Premiership would do to us, given half a chance.
