Low quality game in terrible weather. Never thought Oxford could score: they look doomed. Vale’s cross at the death was just the kind of ball we should’ve been playing in all game in those conditions. A missed opportunity.
Dunne and Cook solid again, Walsh good as well. Smyth tried hard and Bennie was our best forward.

In the first half I noted that the 'pressing' from our attacking players (on a night when mistakes would be made) was ineffective and - compared with what Burrell does - half-hearted.
Then there were the misplaced passes and hoofed balls out of defence... ...

One consolation is we’re not WBA. 5-0 at home to Norwich. Only three points from relegation and -12 GD. And weirdly we’re now only three points from the play offs.

These blokes are on ranging from £100 grand a year to £1.5 million a year !!!

Several players major culprits as to why we can’t keep the ball and play actual football. Mbengue, Smyth, spring to mind, again and again, game after game. Kone also gives the ball away with alarming regularity.

I'm more than comfortable with that result. I said straight after the Sheffield Wednesday that everyone will need to remain calm as January was going to be a shocker.
Unsurprisingly, some are starting to lose their sh!t.

Lads, you and they are all in the wrong jobs! You should be coaching QPR and if they won't take you then in the last couple of months Oxford have beaten Ipswich Town, Southampton, drawn with Middlesbrough and on Saturday Bristol City - one of those clubs will definitely take you and your ringers/schoolkids/Sunday league teams...
Every year, when we're mired in a relegation fight everyone says, "oh for midtable mediocrity." This is it. And still only three points off the play-offs.

I’m not losing my shit. Just think we should have higher standards, even with the players available tonight, than to settle for or be happy with that. Your standards seemed a lot higher last season, if I recall. Nothing last season was that bad performance wise.
I agree 10th-12th would be a successful season. Top half should be the target, and I have been led to believe was the internal target.
