i really do wonder if Walsh is number one this season. Personally, i dont want another whole season where we try to develop a keeper, who is learning on the job at a very slow tempo.
For me, if we could sell Joe and bring in a new number one, i would much prefer this. Personally i dont think he is good enough or likely to end up being good enough.
For me, Joe as number one next season would be a serious own goal and make me consider what dirt Walsh has on the QPR hierarchy. | |

I am sure he wanted to, but was the designated 3rd keeper at games - he travelled to nearly evey game home and away I think, and would have been sub (as he was once) if someone got injured in the warm-up etc. So good first team experience in terms of exposure etc, though I agree a loan would have been better.
He should definitely go on loan for at least 6 months, maybe a season like Murphy Cooper, unless they think he is ready and stays around the first team, plays cup game(s) etc. Would be a bit of a risk throwing someone in like that generally though. | |

Loan out Walsh somewhere with option to buy. I think we need to realise he wont improve much at this level.
Our xG against was 57 last year. Our goals conceded was 76.
Thats basically judged on how likely a shot should or could be a goal, so in all reality the difference could be completely assessed at the ability or not of the goalkeeper to keep the ball out of the net.
I know data isnt for all but that stat alone screams red flags for me. With even ten less goals conceded not even the nineteen suggested, we could be 12 or more points accumulated higher up, which is massive, so why not prioritise this.
The keeper is such a critical position. Almost as critical as the goalscorers. Last summers transfer window we solved the centre forwards issue with Kone and Burrell. Lets hope they can do so and get in a decent keeper and goalkeepers are nowhere near the transfer costs required to get the strikers either so if the club arent going all out to get in a very decent keeper for a sizeable transfer fee, maybe £2million maximum and i think we could with a lot of digging get someone to be a lot better than Walsh and be number one with Salamon / Murphy as back up.
If the club invest another years work experience for Walsh , crikey i may well hand in my season ticket right now, but if Nourry and co could be asked a question at the next forum, that would be number one question I would like to know their thinking.
And its nothing against Joe, personally I just dont ever see him as a championship keeper. | |

Personally believe that we'd have worked wonders if we were to get him a loan with a team in the national league. He's literally only played a few games in the National league south. Any interest from league two clubs would be fanciful in my opinion. | | | |
