DB is 20, pretty big and strong, with nearly 1000 mins for us and nearly 2000 mins in the A league, as well as 14 U20 caps and 5 goals for Australia including an Asia Cup winner's medal.
Cory Adjetey-Brew is 18 and has 0 minutes.
So DB is very close and needs consistent minutes at a level near our whereas CAB is still on the rank (sorry) and National League is a good level for his first loan. |

Harvey Vale, Kwame Poku, Paul Smyth, Koki Saito, Ilias Chair, Karamoko Dembele make 6. Dembele is currently out, possibly Saito as well, but we do not need Bennie there. I'm not even convinced it's his best position.

I think it's right to distinguish where CAB and Bennie are at this stage.
We've all seen Premier League puppy farm products struggle in the championship because although they are more than capable technically they are still kids physically and mentally. NL is going to be the equivalent of a boot camp.
Bennie is more of a fringe championship player, I think it's more about refining what he already has by playing competitively at a near-championship level on a weekly basis rather than cameos off the bench or occasional starts. | | | |

It’s quite possible the club has identified the need for loans this season for:
- Morgan
- Kolli
- Bennie
For the simple reason they need to be experiencing regular game time. Playing 90 mins week in, week out. And they won’t get that here as none are considered first choice.
And sitting on the bench or not even making the squad would represent poor decision-making from the club for this particular group of players. Especially Morgan and Kolli who have already proven themselves at Championship level, if not yet in terms of consistency, which is to be expected.
So maybe they are all going to be sent out on loan? Tylon Smith another one, already 21 years old, with like 2 sub appearances to his name. | | | |

Had a few games where you thought he does have some qualities, but he seemed to drift out of games with little impact, but was hardly used also.
So he started as an apprentice at Arsenal, spent 7 seasons at Liverpool and has been at QPR for 4 seasons and is still only 25.
Must have earnt a reasonable amount of money compared to your average 25 year old, but can't see him having a career in the lower leagues either - maybe league 2 at best, if he can deal with the physicality of the lower levels.
Shame though, but his bank account is probably not complaining and as said he is still only mid twenties. [Post edited 29 Jul 20:44]

Amazing contract we must’ve given EDB. 4 years in and we still have to pay him off to finish early.
What a shame. I remember in an early appearance other players seemed to pass to him as if they had confidence in him to do something good. Probably looked good in training, at least to start.

As is with most of our squad Bosh, regards time out due to injuries or form.
I think he could be signed as a back up option and only two seasons ago he was sold to Rennes for £10 million.
Both Leeds and Rangers offered him 4 year contracts which shows he has had times when he has been well regarded as a player.
Thirty years old. He could do well as a Geoff Cameron type here, or he could flatter to deceive as Isaac Hayden perhaps did. Wheres Shaun Derry when you need him.
The one thing I do like about this signing if it is happening is that Stephan was with him at Rennes albeit a short time, but a manager signing someone he has had previously, would for me suggest he has the right character and has the ability and potential to do the job we need.
He is a very experienced player, several caps for his country, played in some decent leagues, played in the europa league and the champions league and seems to have been liked where he has been.
I think he would be as a reserve option because Vale and Chair could potentially being looked at ahead of him with Madsen. I guess its whether we sell or keep Varane. I think Varane will improve this season and i know only a friendly but he was passing forwards mostly in the Fiorentina game which was markedly different to what he showed last season.
If Varane improves could see him ahead of Kamara also, but who knows !!! [Post edited 29 Jul 21:38]
