I understand the premise but would this not have been better in say, the game against Bristol City, or Derby? In front of the home crowd, no one else paying attention. A chance for him to build confidence.

If he conceded another penalty today, or Ipswich go and score as a result of his mistake, it won't do his confidence any good with the current audience.

We are abysmal in the first 10 minutes after half time. Whatever JS is doing at half time, it needs changing.

Smyth is the very obvious bright spark. Showing his pace. Being direct. Having a go. Breath of fresh air. The kids on Twitter who have a go at him don’t understand football if they think he’s a problem this club.

Glad to hear it. But why do have to go two down before making a match of it? Appreciate it is a largely "free fixture" for us, but we seem to have too many of these over a season. Think Ipswich having got the job done early...are just saving our blushes. We have after all helped them into the Prem again😉
