I don't think any team in the division would have coped with that first ten minutes, and quite a few Premiership teams might have struggled also. What was really noticeable was that our full backs were too slow (RND) or out of position (Mbengue). Think those were the main issues.

And playing around at the back, I would say?

There was always going to be an onslaught by the home team. Play it long, and play it long again, until the crowd settle down a bit.

We contributed to both goals by giving the ball away in our own half with players out of position then for the counter.

They’ve been invisible.

But JCS and Edwards have been the worst for me. Look like they have been summoned from the Sun lounger to play some 5-aside with other tourists. Not even close to being touch tight, not strong in the challenge, just letting Hirst control it, turn, and pass it on completely unbothered. JCS’s attempt at blocking that cross for the first goal was feeble. Utterly feeble. Those two are not at it.

Neither is Varane (quelle surprise), or Morgan. Vale has been invisible. Chair is not in the game. Bennie miles out of his depth.

We have looked pathetic so far.

Due to FFP etc the club can only operate within the boundaries of what income it can generate and having a sub-18k ground limits that including non match day revenue.
The owners can only do so much and are keeping the club going as it is.

We’re an upper/lower mid table club (not team) until that can all be changed (and no, we don’t need another ‘new stadium’ thread).


But you have said that the 18,000 ground is partly responsible for the club being a low mid table team,so surely a new ground can help improve things.

As for this game, it's an appalling performance and embarrassing to watch.

They just do their prep, homework and have a plan - something we fail to do most games.

Although we can if we want to do so occasionally, we can even create a song for it too.

You know what, we're not great, but we're not getting relegated, this season has had its bright spots. Honestly, resources-wise we're doing more or less what you'd expect. I'd rather be falling to 16th on the last Saturday of the season than sweating about avoiding the drop!
