Given that there's no detail - that I can see - in the announcement, isn't it hard to judge the decision? It might be for just a year or two.

Decent squad player. First class attitude.
Runs his bollöcks off every time he's on the pitch.
Good player to bring on as a sub to stretch the opponents. Defenders don't like players like him, especially late in a game.
There's a thread on here asking if we need to bring in another striker. Maybe we do, but they cost a lot of money & we have Lloyd already here who we already know has the right attitude, some different attributes to our other strikers & some potential that may or may not be fulfilled. So he's worth a gamble in my opinion.
I'm sure he won't be on a big wage & if he does goes on a scoring run we can sell him at a very decent profit. |  | | |

True. However, if we're in need of a goal in the dying moments of a game and he fluffs them like the one at Pompey or the good and the half chances he had yesterday, then we might sing a different tune.
He really does need to rifle one in of the good chances he's being presented with. It could give his confidence the boost it needs, because to be fair to him, he does work hard.

I'd imagine the contract he was on was on very low pay and this one won't be that much more. Could be the club making a point by rewarding a player who has gone out on loan with no fuss and always had a positive attitude. He might not be a championship standard footballer but he seems like a top bloke. Maybe good to have him around the squad. | | | |

I think it's a case of: just because the boy next door sticks his head in the oven, you don'thave to as well!
Presumably he wants more than just a career spent coming on for Kone 15 minutes before the end. If he starts banging in a few of those good chances he's getting, then he's more likely to push on.

‘Currently’ showing a significant improvement on last season. Needs to score goals obviously but engages defenders very well, especially when they are tiring in the last 20 minutes. Displays a great attitude too. Deserves the new contract | | | |

Alfie Lloyd in my opinion has earned a new contract. Done exactly what the club has asked of him, gone out on loan, put in the hard work, come back to the club improved on what he was and now being given chances. Keep pressing the coach and giving 100% and as others said he will get chances to start games. Last season people wrote off Adamson, he has looked very good this season and I think Lloyd will do the same
We have another player who could learn a lot from Lloyd and he too would be getting regular appearances in the first team squad. |  | | |
