Neither team deserved to win - though Charlton probably edged it on real chances. We were bilge, no sugar coating it with possession stats. Defence looked better than I remember, but christ on a bike...we were awful in the final third. And the A and E dept at QPR...are on double shifts again. We just aren't allowed nice things. Loved the way we played. Madsen and Kamara bossing the middle.

What to say... another game where we have dominated and another disappointing result
Some positives.. Adamson... Kamara... a clean sheet... a point away from home
But dear oh dear... we have more injuries and again no end product. Stay 4th and so have to look again on the positives...
WBA won tonight.. and with the injuries Saturday is going to be really really tough |
Mbengue did more in his 15mins than Adamson did in the entire game. He’s ok but no more.
I thought Cirkin looked our best player when he came on; sharp, full of attacking intent. He was excellent [Post edited 9 Sep 22:03]

Last season we came here and dug in with no plan to so much as go past the halfway line. This season we were all over them and they basically accepted a point at home and played to get it. Shame we couldn't finish them off but it's progress of a sort. | | | |

We've also just drawn away mid-week and we're 4th in the league, albeit at this early stage. From one perspective at least, not so much to moan about. |
The problem is that because we only operate with about 8 or 9 players who operate at anything near 100% for large parts of the season we have players either playing within themselves (Madsen), filling in (Adamson) or simply not ready (Scarlett) and consequently, it won't be long before our objectives get realigned and it becomes about staying in the division. In my opinion we should not have let the good U21 players who we could have added to the 25 go out on loan - Morgan and particularly Bennie tonight would have been good options coming off the bench and would almost 100% have been used before we reach Jan when we can have another go at buying some players who are actually fit-for-purpose. | | | |

Hugely frustrating against an awful Charlton side who had no intention of coming out of their low block. We bossed that game for 80 minutes. Kamara an excellent player. Madsen getting back towards his top level too. At least Smyth is one player who seems capable of ,90 minutes but he's such a frustrating player to watch.
Worried about Saturday with injuries. Opportunities for some of the development boys and Caramel surely due a game. | | | |

So you felt Adamson had a poor game... Mbengue is the better player at this stage of his career... but think Adamson played well tonight...1st half he was going forward well.. and had Campbell under control ... the only time Campbell got free was down the middle

Yes we’ve played some of our ‘easy’ matches but we often don’t get points for those, so I think we’d have taken it at the beginning of the season.

I wasn't expecting much from Lloyd (and he didn't disappoint) - but Burrell wasn't any better. That concerns me. We need a striker, if we want to turn close games like tonight into wins. | | | |

Agree. Adamson has the annoying habit of getting into space wide right, then turning it inwards and back. Make a cross or run the FB.
Afraid it was all foreplay but no penetration. Charlton just got men behind the ball and we werent good enough to play the killer pass. Except for Smyth's 1 on 1. He never looked like scoring, though.. |  |

Two frustrating games on the spin with injuries disrupting our game plans. At least tonight a worldie didn’t beat us.

Adamson was fine. Don't think anyone had a stinker tonight just came up against a team who seemed happy for a 0-0 and to play for long throws and corners. We've got to find a way to beat the dregs like Charlton if we want to make the top 8. | | | |

totally agree. too slow, never once gave Burrell a quick ball into space for him to put the burners on. loads of possession but as you say, no urgency. all fur coat and no knickers!

Any win would have taken us top.. which would have been nice.
I found that frustrating.. when I screamed shoot they didn't and when I screamed pass they shot.. Some nice possession football, which is nice to see, but never really convinced that we had goals in us.
Very few balls in behind for our quick forwards.. widemen not getting to the byline (after Lamptey went off) and crosses from deep were dealt with easily..
Thought Adamson put in a good shift. Fair play to the lad. But Mad Ben did well when he came on, got down the wing and put some crosses in.
Scarlett looks lightweight.. and rushed his chance when put through, crossing before he looked up, had a lot more time than he realized.
Kamara looks so silky, but neither him or Madsen really did much in terms of final balls.
Our best chance came from pressing, and Smyth should have done better, first touch took him wider than needed and tame finish.
All that possession and we created very little.. fingers crossed Jimmy and Tariq are not proper injuries..
Feels like 2 points lost and a chance to improve our dysmal record at the Valley.. which was depressingly empty, |  | | |

Could not disagree more!
I didn’t think Adamson would make a player at all but he had a great game tonight against who is probably Charlton’s best player.
Thought he was solid and also used the ball well going forward
As for Cirkin I’m yet to see anything justifying the fuss.
He got done all ends up at the end twice.
First one was a big chance for them and then he was lucky not to get a card which could’ve been red in injury time. |  |
