What am amazing game this football lark is... we are behind the goal here on the right and I don't think I have seen so much of a game played entirely in our half... and then we go and score.. unbelievable
And I gather it was an OG according to the lad behind me... and Mepham lol....
Of the 5 goals we conceded I believe that is 4 of them from outside the area... we are certainly getting our fair share of good strikes against hurt
So we have now broke Smyth... there is a book going on here who is next... both Townsend and Stiles are giving our defence a real hard time... and qith Smyth off I can only see it getting harder
I'm not to down about this... be happy to come away with a draw and NO MORE INJURIES will be a job well done

I don't know, maybe I'm imagining it but these match threads seem really negative to me, a difficult read at least. When I follow the match stats and look at the league table (it's very very early days, I know), things don't seem anywhere near as bad as the tone in this space. WBA have one shot on target and score, we go in at half-time 1-1 to one of the only two teams above us in the league at the moment. I don't see how our feckless, failing, inadequate and decimated by injury team is managing these gravity defying feats but long may it continue, I suppose. If we lose today and everybody below us wins we'll tumble to 7th or 8th! Does anyone recall the last few seasons?  |  |

Solid first half from us.
The own goal was a bit fortunate, but it came from some really good approach play from Vale, Poku and Burrell. That’s the sort of movement we need more of.
Frustrating to concede a couple of minutes later. Quality finish from them, no argument, but we have to get out to the man earlier and block those efforts. Can’t afford to give them that much time and space.
Smyth looks to have picked up an injury, which is a blow with the list already looking thin.
The travelling support have been loud and proud as always.

That's about poor as we have been this season in terms of going forwards and being in the game, having any periods of control. It's been all West Brom control.
The good news / positives from that is that we still scored, are level at HT and have restricted them to hardly any chances where in previous seasons we miught easily be losing.
We still need to improve, hopefully Kamara will come on 2nd half. | |

Overall I think we have done ok, restricted WBA to a few chances.
Good strike for the equaliser but if Smyth was still on he might have prevented the effort on goal, Scarlett had been drawn in to the centre and was far away.

Yes, fair enough. I get why some of our fanbase slag off Smyth but part of that is because he's always involved, whether that's pressing or going forward. He makes mistakes for sure but for me I want to see some of the others be more visible too. | | | |
