| Paul Smyth up top 17:49 - Oct 24 with 2368 views | QPRcounsellor | I have wanted to see this for a long time. He has the same attributes as Burrell. Pace, power, causes havoc, can score goals. If Burrell is out then it seems like an obvious choice and it worked a treat . Him and Kone were superb as two strikers today. Paul Smyth is absolutely one of my favourite players. How boring that on virtually every QPR podcast, it's always said "Smyth gets a lot of stick from fans but......". Please let's stop this. He doesn't. No one I know ever gives him stick. He's unanimously popular where I sit. Loved him from day 1 v Cardiff that time. Surely one of the first on the team sheet now. Cheers. | | | | |

| Paul Smyth up top on 18:23 - Oct 24 with 2067 views | NewYorkRanger | Agreed - he was great today and always, always gives 100%. Great asset to the team. When I saw the team news I thought perhaps Vale would play off Kone. Was surprised to see Smyth there but it worked an absolute treat. It was great to be able to give him the ovation as he walked round the pitch after being subbed. | |

He has been brilliant this season, superb again today, great running that I think created space for others, great shift defensively, unselfish assist for Kone, won the pen. An interesting combo - well done JS for putting them together.

| Paul Smyth up top on 19:27 - Oct 24 with 1792 views | robith | I've logged on, battered from the white horse, and was gonna make a Paul Smyth thread. This will do. What a man. What a player. I've always liked him. But clearly Stephan has helped him step up even further and he's listening. He's always been relentless. Now he's got effectiveness. I would hate to mark him. Love him, proper rangers player, a treasure. Today was one of his best showings in hoops..he played like Swansea owed him money. If that second half volley had gone in, I'd have been on the pitch | | | |
| Paul Smyth up top on 19:42 - Oct 24 with 1704 views | StreathamRanger | He's well and truly proved me wrong this season. I love him. Such a thorn in the opposition side. Constantly chipping away. A player making the absolute most of his ability and giving his all. Along with a few others, he sets the standard. Well done Paul. | | | |

Superb today. Sorry if this is a Spac, but when (if ever) did the same player win three consecutive pens for his club?
| Paul Smyth up top on 19:58 - Oct 24 with 1604 views | queensparker | Completely agree - he was outstanding today and that was his best game for the club IMO. Kone didn’t need to waste all his energy running around as Smyth had it all in abundance and lo and behold, a Kone left alone to bully centre backs and stay central gets a hat trick and finally looks back on track. Was wonderfully nostalgic seeing a big man/little man at the head of a 4-42 and destroying the opposition | | | | Login to get fewer ads

| Paul Smyth up top on 20:04 - Oct 24 with 1529 views | Hunterhoop | I think he has the potential to become a club legend. I really do. I am drunk tho. | | | |
| Paul Smyth up top on 20:21 - Oct 24 with 1425 views | QPRcounsellor | I'm not knocking the guy who posted this on another thread because everyone has an opinion, but even after today's game and this season, people are still at it. "A great example for players who aren't quite Championship standard to show where hard work and commitment can get you". I really don't get it. He's quality. Not many Championship players have it all, and neither does he. But if he's not quite Championship standard then what is his level, League One? Anyway, have made my point and great to see so many of us agree. | | | |

| Paul Smyth up top on 20:33 - Oct 24 with 1291 views | BklynRanger | I think it was undoubtedly a smart move by Julien to put him into the two. It gave Kone so much more support, coming back to fitness, took the pressure off compared to if he'd been on his own or with a 10 behind. And playing Smyth in that role reminded me of a goal he scored years ago for us when he was just coming through - straight through the middle with pace. Was somewhat reminiscent of Michael Owen's goal against Argentina. The high point before a long period of low points for us, so to see that today was great. | | | |
| Paul Smyth up top on 20:52 - Oct 24 with 1196 views | OxfordHoops | Without a doubt, player of the season so far and probably in the championship team of the season as it stands? Such a top bloke who loves the club, deserves the praise! Stephan deserves a lot of credit also for his decision in moving Smyth that little nearer to the striker. URss | | | |

Paul Smyth is now a top Championship player: his decision making, crossing and shooting has improved massively under Julien. We are lucky to have him.
| Paul Smyth up top on 21:18 - Oct 24 with 1056 views | bosh67 | He's a great player for us and a nightmare to play against. I think he won the most acrobatic penalty of the season. No doubt a pen but his ability to take off in the air made it an absolute stone waller. Very much Mr QPR for me. Top top lad as well. | |

| Paul Smyth up top on 21:18 - Oct 24 with 1048 views | numptydumpty | Such a likeable player by teammates and fans also. Loves the club and his pride for this club, has helped others feel this could be a special place for them too. The more players get genuine enjoyment out of their football here, the more they will perform. If I was a manager in any workplace and you have a range of characters to show the way to and you had to have a certain mixture of people, characters such as Paul Smyrh are the key factors in any motivated workforce. Best ever at double somersaults in the clubs history also. As Ian Holloway might have said, "There is a lot of manlove going on." [Post edited 24 Oct 21:21]

Not on silly money, seems to love the club, does fancy celebrations, great on the press, takes on players not just pishballing it about. Easily player of the season at the moment.

Smyth was immense today. As a winger on either side, or No.10 like today, he always gives 100% and is valued highly by many fans. Glad to see Stephan getting the best out of Smyth, what a shame the Northern Ireland manager doesn't.

Think ur find that those on x who love to slag him off are the same ones saying Kolli is the best trimmer in the world , it’s fans of a certain age who at more rarely go to games who can’t stand smyth
