| Greatest loan R on 21:58 - Nov 5 with 0 views | Bluce_Ree | Mark Kennedy for me. I just remember him being unbelievable. Then again, I think we also got Gavin Peacock on loan at the same time. He was decent on loan and then complete bullshit when we signed him permanently. | |

| Greatest loan R on 22:10 - Nov 5 with 0 views | turnsey | Walker has to be up there even if he only had half a season with us. Routledge was also on loan same season. Nahki Wells and Hugill scored a few goals, but they had people like Eze, Willock, and Osayi-Samuel causing havoc behind them. Other than that, most of our good loanees have ended up becoming permanent so it feels like cheating to choose them (Ronnie Edwards, etc.) Memory doesn't go back much further than that [Post edited 5 Nov 22:10]

Furlong was an unpopular loan (one goal, a rebound off his arse) who became an unpopular signing, then a great one.

Yeah. i think you would have to distinguish between temporary loans and those that became permanent. Walker/Routledge Taarabt/Cook | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I remember him being a cut above the rest of squad when he joined and he had a really good Leicester away performance. Lee camp had a good loan spell too. [Post edited 6 Nov 0:46]

| Greatest loan R on 06:47 - Nov 6 with 0 views | rbee | Mark Kennedy. A mere 28 years ago but a night Loftus Road will never forget. I was in The Paddock that night so had a wonderful view. Routledge for me was the one that got away, we really should have signed him. Ishmael Miller made his mark. Pav. Darren Ward I liked and he wanted to sign for us. Aziz Ben Askar was only a loan I think. [Post edited 6 Nov 7:02]

It's a well-known fact* that Gus "Cassius" Caesar was named after the Roman general and senator Gaius Cassius Longinus, brother-in-law to Brutus and co-conspirator in the plot to assassinate Julius Caesar on the Ides of March. Historically, QPR fans honoured this connection by extending their arms with thumbs facing downwards whenever he played. * may or may not be true

My memory might be fading but we were destined for League One before Ruddock came in (and Jones, although not sure he did much apart from a goal at Huddersfield). I don't think Razor was amazing, but he got the job done, just, by adding some vital cojones. Man City away is always remembered for the Pollock og but without that fight it would have been a consolation in a 5-1 defeat. I think.

I think Ruddock was the main reason we stayed up that season. At the POTY dinner that year they gave him a special award for his efforts.

I'd say Lee Camp's loan signing kept us up that season. Signing him in a motorway service station on the way to a game just added that level of sheer fùckries you only really get with QPR.

100% agree on Razor. I'd even go as far as to give a mention to Vincenzo Jones!! Sat on the bus taking us from the Britannia back to the station for onward return to Manchester, after an utterly abject display, relegation was inevitable at that point. 'You know who we need?' asked someone and a chap called Ant Hobbs and myself threw two names into the mix. Christ alive, but at the McAlpine a week later, there were Messrs Jones and Ruddock in the Starting XI, and with it, a totally different QPR! I know, I know, be careful what you wish for, and if we'd known Aladdin was on the bus beside us a week earlier, we'd have chosen Stam and Vieira instead. My bad.

Yes, my initial thoughts on the OP were that this was about loans that we DIDN’T go on to sign permanently. But as Clive suggested Cook and Camp that brought Adel in to play.
| Greatest loan R on 09:19 - Nov 6 with 0 views | TheChef | That Championship winning team was obviously great, but getting Routledge was the cherry on top. | |

| Greatest loan R on 10:04 - Nov 6 with 0 views | Lblock | Mikkel Beck -- won us absolute fortunes in the bookie kiosk and was gutted we were only seen as a short stop to get himself back to fitness. For one that I was surprised didn't catch fire - going further back.... Paul Walsh.... if ever there was a player suited to QPR (at the time) it was him. The other one's wjo were loanees and made perm already mentioned. A list of worst ever would be substantial but Bob Malcolm, Priskin and Marcus Bent would feature very highly | |
