So many. Madsen — who's become the cool, calm pivot and dead-ball specialist we hoped for. Dembélé for getting his shooting instincts under control and having by far his best game so far. Saito for being back to the Kocky Koki of last season. Mbengue for managing to sufficiently control his — errr — ebullience, and let the pure genius show through (what a goal!). RND for putting his last performance well behind him. Koné, for being the "back to the 50s" John Charles sort of finisher you don't see very often these days. And Burrell, who didn't get on the score sheet today, but whose work-rate and constant running created all kinds of possibilities for his teammates.

Dembélé, by a stretch.
Terrifying from the start.
Seems to me that we pushed up more generally today, including pushing our two defensive central midfielders ten yards or so off the heels of the centre-backs.
Part of that was that we could maybe favour the more attacking Dembélé over Smyth who is better at defending with his right-back.
Dembélé was the beneficiary today.

We’re really seeing hidden depths of revenge and dark thoughts from Madsen re Marti this week - wonder what went on there?
No doubt he’s making him eat his words - the rehabilitation of Madsen is my favourite thing about this season so far. Not only his quick passing and calm on the ball but he put in some great blocks and tackles all game and looked tough using his whole frame. 12 months ago that was nowhere to be seen |  | | |
