What a brilliant and heart-warming piece of output by the club. Rarely do we see the human side of what it means to be a family man as a professional football player. More respect for Cook, wish him all the best for whatever he decides to do next...
You can see why he’s such a role model for the younger players. He’s funny and mentally and physically strong but doesn’t mind showing a sensitive side and that he loves his wife and children. It’s great that he has played against the Ronaldos and Kanes and can bring some of the young pups down to earth.
It’s so refreshing when you have the Kyle Walkers and Andrew Tates dominating so much publicity.
I’m not surprised Jimmy Dunne is such good mates with him as they seem to have similar values and hopefully he’ll continue to keep the younger players in line.
That was brilliant have to congratulate the media team for putting that together, heart warming to watch. Steve is a superb role model and it's such a shame we never got to sign him a couple of seasons earlier, I just hope he's at the ground tomorrow and comes on the pitch, a lot of us missed his final game which really should have been tomorrow.

Tell you what, they were excellent! Their questions were really good and delivered far better than many of the boring questions so called journos serve up! Imagine the Chuckle Brothers at WLS , 10 minutes would have yielded two, maybe three questions only.

It's a beautiful thing and brought a tear to my eye as well as Cookie's. A great watch and a far better interview than many you see anywhere on sports TV. I really hope he comes back as a coach one day soon. The door is obviously open for him.

I'd certainly have kept him another year if the money was right of course.
He joked in an earlier interview that a 32 year old wouldn't be signed nowadays, which is daft. You need a mix of ages and most importantly, experience!
Feel there's going to be a lot of weight on Jimmy's shoulders next season. Assuming we don't sell him of course!

I wouldnt be supprised it some clubs done sniff around jimmy this summer , hes had a decent season adapted well to being centre back again even with a variety of partners , good age realtivly inuury free until recently and we will need money for players to fill left and right bck postions .

I agree another year would have been good, and who knows we may have offered him something on a reduced package, but I dont think we could have kept him on the current wage he is reportedly on

That did not look like a player ready to hang up his boots, he is going to play as long as he can, even if he has injections before every match to get him through it.
I'd have liked to see if the club could keep him around, as I reckon he is well settled to the area, with his kids loving Fulham etc. Not too many other teams in the area at the same level for him to move to? Maybe he could do a season at Spurs in the Champ, he'd be the cheapest player on their books!
