Do we really have to? Cardiff match thread... 07:46 - Oct 31 with 45899 viewsdavman

As enthused about this one as can be.

Wallace might be back, but our best player probably won't be because the club has decided to impose the unwritten clause in a contract, which is we might have triggered a one year option, but our option for that year is not to play you during that extra season unless you commit even further to this clown show.

As always in the middle of such a run, I can't see any sign of recovery and we'll not score with this lot, so it's a case of how many for them (I'm going for 3). The usual bright start followed by an embarrassing first after 20 minutes then the traditional QPR collapse.

20th now. Suddenly 16th looks a pipedream...

Can we go out yet?

Andy Sinton's having multiple orgasms over Dom Ball's goal. Someone will have to hose down the commentary booth afterwards.

Isn't it sad that one strike can govern your mood for the remainder of the weekend.

Well done Dom Ball.

How long is Dickie out for after the sending off - Is it just one?

Does Barbet not read this website?

Just one.

Does that mean the last 5 goals we've conceded have all been penalties? Have we broken a record?

We are the penalty kings.

If Cardiff had got anything out of that it would have been robbery.

It would have been charity .

Dom Ball take a bow! Stunning strike. I actually shrieked like an old biddy when it flew in. Unbelievable.

However, Ball has hugely bailed out Warburton.

I know PP went way OTT, but he is right, you can coach defenders not to give away penalties. You coach and practice staying on your feet in the box in practice matches and attack versus defence. You create a ethos of discipline where if players fail to follow instruction, you hold them accountable. Both the playing and mental side of the game are coachable. It is the head coach’s job to make sure that is happening. It’s patently not. It’s unprofessional and I’ll disciplined and the buck stops with MW.

Yes the players make the direct errors, but he responsible for coaching them to not make such errors.

5 pens in 3 games?! There is a fundamental problem with discipline if that’s happening.

But for tonight, thank you Dom Ball!

I'm sure I say this every time we win (so not often) but how crazy would the celebrations have been when Ball's shot hit the net with fans today?

Anyway, we'll take that wont we.

Would be nice to have a ref who was even handed for once. How we collected more cards than them is beyond me.

It’s way more than that. It’s broken record teaching. It’s cause and effect training. Footballers are not the smartest. You have to drum it in.

Stay on your feet in the box. Practice it on the training ground. Fine anyone diving in in the box in practice. Same goes for raising your hands.

If it was not coach able you would see a relatively even no. of pens conceded across all teams at every level.

But you don’t. Some concede hardly any. Some concede loads. We are in the latter.

It absolutely is coachable. I’m not suggesting Warburton isn’t aware and trying to coach it, but what he’s doing is not working.

Quite. Woolmer was an utter bellend throughout. Took an instant disliking to BOS, and gave him fcuk all protection. He also took a dislike to Barbet, but I can understand that...

Guessing from a few times he’s lashed out he might be a bit mouthy on the pitch. Shouldn’t affect the referee’s judgement but then you get a little Hitler ref and it probably does.

Just a theory as he so rarely seems to get what he should from refs.
