| Dozzell announcement imminent? on 22:29 - Jun 13 by Northernr | Increasingly as cover in the middle of the back three, where Cameron has gone and De Wijs will be missing a dozen times a season. |
Kakay has played there more often, with Kane and Uncle coming in at RWB. I suspect if we get rid of Kane and we buy another RB, then that could be an option for Kakay. I think Ball if we signed Jojo and Dozzell will be a Squad player. Not a bad player to have in the Squad.

| Dozzell announcement imminent? on 09:37 - Jun 15 with 3858 views | HAYESBOY | https://www.westlondonsport.co This is more about Carroll not staying than Jojo not coming. Plus Amos getting back to full fitness. Hopefully Johansen coming in is still on. I suppose then its a right fullback/wingback to look out for. | |

| Dozzell announcement imminent? on 10:41 - Jun 15 with 3582 views | bosh67 | He looks like a really good prospect and seems a similar type of player to Ravel Morrison. A good exchange for Carroll and good luck to Carroll. From the sounds of it, or just me being optimistic, Dozzell is a replacement for Carroll which makes me hopeful that Johansen will still be coming. | |

While I agree that he seems to be a replacement for Carroll (although we have been linked with him for several months now), I am not sure it means Johansen is still coming. We are still pretty heavily stocked in the central mid-field area from the defensive to the attacking (Ball, Field, Chair, Amos,Willock, Thomas, Adomah + kids and now Dozzell). If we go with our 3-5-1-1 formation, then the max you can play is four of these (lets just say Amos, Field and Dozzell, behind Chair for example) with either Dykes or Chaz up top. That still leaves Willock, Adomah, Thomas and Ball + kids not starting. If we go two up top then obviously that is another midfield spot gone. While there is no denying that Johansen was a class act last season, and is a quality player at this level, we will not exactly be bereft of talent in that area if he doesn't sign. Long term, I think Field and Dozzell could be more significant signings. Chaz was important for the talismanic 'feel good' factor, Jorgi is a punt, which if works, will hopefully allow Masterson out on loan to develop and if not, is no great financial hit I suspect. I still think that until the Todd Kane issue is resolved one way or another, that right wing back is the area that needs to be addressed most urgently

Problem is if we don't get Johansen then we are somewhat overstocked with AMs. Dozzell appears to be another one? For me Amos is not a DM, so we really we only have Field and Ball, although I'm hoping Bettache kicks on this season.

| Dozzell announcement imminent? on 12:48 - Jun 15 with 3115 views | CliveWilsonSaid | Just heard a good report back about Dozzell from an Ipswich fan. He rates him highly and said that their whole squad have basically been sleep walking for a couple of years. Didn’t seem too concerned about his previous injury either. Apparently Paul Cook came in and took a look at their first team squad to see who he wanted to keep and release and decided to get rid of them all! | |

Says there the contract Dozzell signed in December before Cook came in seems to have had a low release clause, so he was already off more or less and just ensuring Ipswich a token goodwill fee. Never really know the leverage with these things since (if I understand correctly?) a release clause is technically just permission to speak to the player and not a non-negotiable buyout that may have exempted us from a sell-on clause. But illegal approaches to players have fallen by the wayside for a long time now anyway.

| Dozzell announcement imminent? on 16:32 - Jun 15 with 2442 views | denhamhoop2 | For me he looks very much a Warbsball player gives us the option of 2 holding midfielders in certain games against better opposition does make me think that Ball will be seen more as an option as a centre back and might even be given a go at Right Wing Back. Warbs tick list Academy education and lots of Coaching at the England Age Levels Tick 20-25 Tick Potential Sell On Possibility Tick Games 50-100 Tick all in all just what Warbs looks for the injury has brought him into our price bracket. The fact Norwich were interested is another bonus for me because while Brentford have been hailed for their buying and selling Norwich have done rather well in the same area. | | | |

| Dozzell announcement imminent? on 16:35 - Jun 15 with 2412 views | BazzeR | Very happy with this signing. It’s maybe a little easier for some players to accept not being named in the starting 11 with the increased size of the match day squad and additional subs allocation generally taken up by MW. Interesting to read that Andre Dozzell was eased back into first team action after returning from his major injury.A similar path for Luke Amos would seem beneficial to his full recovery. | | | |

| Dozzell announcement imminent? on 16:46 - Jun 15 with 2342 views | TractorBoyGuest | Andre is a frustrating one, come through the academy, the Dozzell surname, scores on his debut at 16 and we thought we had the next best thing since sliced bread. He then suffered a bad injury which put him out for over 12 months. Andre had a lot of hype early on in his career, but I think even the most blue tinted Town fan would deep down know he hasn't lived up to it yet, and has been very very poor this year - albeit in a very poor side. His passing ability is his strength, and when it's good it is very good, sees passes that most won't. His weakness is that he can be anonymous in games far too often, you always think when he shows flashes of his passing that he should be dictating games, and then he'll go missing for large parts. Has to be more advanced as defensively he really struggles, due to his lack of athleticism and physicality. Town fans always think, what does he do for the side, he doesn't, he doesn't score, he doesn't assist and it always left us frustrated. At 22 he needs to kick on now, it's a huge opportunity for him at a solid Championship side, no Town thought he would make that jump off the back of last season. Right now I think most Town fans would bite your hand off for the £1m we've got, I really hope in 2 years we can look back and say you got a steal. [Post edited 15 Jun 2021 16:53]

Thank you for that. Personally, I would doubt that we've agreed a fee of £1 milliion without part of that being extras paid for appearances, promotion etc.
| Dozzell signed on 16:59 - Jun 15 with 2224 views | rsonist | Warbs comments talking up his adaptability - perhaps not the end of Mesut Dözzell after all - and also mentioning senior players around him which reads like a big Calm Down We Still Want Johansen to me. Not sure AD and SJ are really all that alike, SJ is way more all-action box to box. The rare beauty of him is he's a bit of everyone else we've got on board. https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/i Local press confirming "a significant sell-on clause" as you'd expect btw. | | | |

It was a minimum trigger fee, non-negotiable on his deal signed in December 20'. The fee is £1m minimum, whether there are any top-ups in addition to that I don't know, although I obviously would like it if there were top-ups along the way.

Luke Amos pointed out after his first season that he felt he underperformed after his similar injury and subsequent return to regular first team action.
