Good, let’s give the lad a real chance before writing him off shall we. Some youngsters manage the step up others don’t but it’s the pond we’re swimming in right now and if I may say so we’re getting pretty good at this.

| Dozzell announcement imminent? on 16:46 - Jun 15 by TractorBoyGuest | Andre is a frustrating one, come through the academy, the Dozzell surname, scores on his debut at 16 and we thought we had the next best thing since sliced bread. He then suffered a bad injury which put him out for over 12 months. Andre had a lot of hype early on in his career, but I think even the most blue tinted Town fan would deep down know he hasn't lived up to it yet, and has been very very poor this year - albeit in a very poor side. His passing ability is his strength, and when it's good it is very good, sees passes that most won't. His weakness is that he can be anonymous in games far too often, you always think when he shows flashes of his passing that he should be dictating games, and then he'll go missing for large parts. Has to be more advanced as defensively he really struggles, due to his lack of athleticism and physicality. Town fans always think, what does he do for the side, he doesn't, he doesn't score, he doesn't assist and it always left us frustrated. At 22 he needs to kick on now, it's a huge opportunity for him at a solid Championship side, no Town thought he would make that jump off the back of last season. Right now I think most Town fans would bite your hand off for the £1m we've got, I really hope in 2 years we can look back and say you got a steal. [Post edited 15 Jun 2021 16:53]

Thanks. That sounds exactly in accordance with most of our recent signings. Young players who have shown tremendous promise but not quite fulfilled it yet for different reasons. Looking forward to seeing his progress.....

| Dozzell announcement imminent? on 16:59 - Jun 15 by TractorBoyGuest | It was a minimum trigger fee, non-negotiable on his deal signed in December 20'. The fee is £1m minimum, whether there are any top-ups in addition to that I don't know, although I obviously would like it if there were top-ups along the way. |
Is this speculation or reported by a reputable source? As ever the transfer fee is undisclosed.

All that states is that Ipswich would have to allow Dozzell to leave for any club that offered £1 million if he wished. It doesn't state that the club won't accept an offer of less than £1 million if they don't think anyone will offer that figure or that the manager doesn't want him! | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| Dozzell signed on 20:17 - Jun 15 with 4275 views | qprxtc | QPR lost every single time Jason Dozzell played against them. So unless we get Father Karras down here pretty pronto, we are all going to be spitting mushy peas with a crucifix playing the fiddle on our whatsits. On the another hand, decent signing. Tubular bells….. | | | |

I think we do things a little differently these days. It felt like Cousins was signed almost just because he had one decent game against us for Charlton and scored. Looks like we've had our eye on Dozzell for some time and have a pretty good idea of what we're getting and the potential he has.
| Dozzell signed on 09:04 - Jun 16 with 3510 views | gazza1 | I look forward to seeing Dozzell play....as for Cousins - I was at the Charlton match when he was MOM by a country mile. Looked real good. So, when Rangers signed him I was very pleased. It just never really worked out from him here but good luck to the lad, never shirked his responsibilities. | | | |

See if she can find out if he will move to London, or try to commute from Ipswich. I tried that for seven years, and it wasn't easy. Both the A12 and the train service are very fragile.

Barnet to Harlington is an absolute pain in the ars. I wouldn’t wish doing it from Ipswich every day on him.

He could buy a helicopter (as recommended by Julio Cesar to Shaun Derry).

yeah to be fair, Cousins had been their POTY at least once, maybe twice? And was a young player with a lot of potential. It was a signing that didn't work out, but some don't. Not a club in the world that doesn't make transfers that don't work.

Yeh, Cousins didn't work, but it was a signing that made a lot of sense. Good age, good pedigre, position we needed, price was good because Charlton were on their ars. It didn't work, it was a real shame. When we tried to buy finished articles it was a very, very expensive disaster. You'd think people like SWP, Bosingwa, Cesar, Caulker etc would be absolutely sure fire guaranteed hits. In actual fact they were complete blowouts, nearly sank the club. Is it one in four signings they reckon work out? Four out of four like out January this year is incredibly rare. I'd much rather us take our chance on those odds with signings like Dozzell, Cox, Field, Dickie, Willock etc than trying to buy finished product. Not that we can afford finished product now of course, but if we were to get promoted and get that big money injection again I'd much prefer us to stick to this method. It suits us better, it brings in players who suit us better, it feels a lot better to support and get enthusiastic about. It works a hell of a lot better for us.

In his video interview they highlight the fact that he’s been at Ipswich for 14 years, all his career. I think this was the same for Sam Field. I wonder if this is a policy? Or maybe just a coincidence.

As we've seen with not only Dozzell and Field but Willock and probably Kelman too, the policy seems to be to target young players who see moving on as essential for their careers.

A lot of Ipswich fans who I’ve spoken to seem to think he hasn’t fulfilled his potential and has been living on his dad’s name when he plays, but a lot of our fans say the same about some of the players who leave our club too.I’m prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt until he puts on a qpr shirt in a game.
