It's in these moments we can feel especially grateful for having Norf to explain every Willock/Amos/Goss/Ravel stop on the young-signing-o-meter.

GOSS!!!

Prize from the middle shelf.

Had the profile back from my Ipswich oppo for the signing piece and there's an awful lot of talk of a deep lying, left footed, ball-playing central midfielder for me to think this isn't Johansen-lite.

Presumably Johansen's apprentice rather than Johansen's replacement? right? ...right???

Poll: Moses Odubajo - Stick or Twist?

Don't know anything about him but I know better than to judge him based on a few comments from supporters of his previous club.

Remember the time we all scoffed at Geroges Santos before he'd kicked a ball...

I usually sign him in football manager and he's useful in the championship but once I get promoted I tend to sell him on.

I know that was really helpful and informative.

On FIFA 18 he was an essential "buy for 200k and will be 86 rated in 3 seasons" player

Without wanting to dip back into the Big Data discussion, if Football Manager and FIFA both rate him that's good enough for me!...

Jordy De Wijs as well, didn't look anything great at Hull but fits well with us or so it seems.

My optimistic take is that LTC was already Johansen Lite and therefore Dozzell steps into his shoes (younger, more chance of improvement, chance of a fee).

Meanwhile Full Fat Johansen is now only holding out for an in house sauna and 50 death metal CDs and he’ll sign.

Agree. The Carroll contract offer really didn't make sense if you were doing this. Must have been an absolute pittance for him to reject it given his options.

IF he is coming, good luck to him & I hope he will be sucessful.

Personally, I don't think he is good enough to be in our starting eleven & every Ipswich fan I've spoken to feels that he was a lot better player two years ago than he is now.

I am struggling to recall any player that has played for us after playing for Ipswich who has been outstanding. Steve Palmer & Chris Kiwomya probably topping the list.

I just hope that he would prove my doubts to be wrong.

It's hard to get excited about signing a player you've never seen play.

Much easier to skip to the chase and write him off now.

That's OK because the past performance of Ipswich players coming to QPR is completely irrelevant!

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Totally not relevant, but then neither is our record of signing players from Manchester United and that is always stated!

If you saw Georges Santos against Crewe (a) one Tuesday evening in 2004, you would have seen a masterclass. Quite simply the most surreal out of character brilliant performance I have ever seen. Even Clive would have given him a 9 that night.

And he came from Ipswich.

Can we go out yet?
Poll: What would you take for Willock if a bid comes this month?

Not sure whether this has been mentioned but does Warbs have a thing about left-footed central midfielders ... JoJo, Field, Carroll, Dozzell?

What next, a return for Ale?

I certainly cannot deny what is on those websites Dmm.

He certainly looks quite comfortable using his left foot but when Luke Amos is running with the ball it is always being carried on his right side, same when he attempts most tackles.

Just watched Amos on Youtube and you and Medway are right. He is predominantly right footed.

I'm absolutely amazed I've had him down as left footed. Clearly I shouldn't trust the interweb on these things!

As others have said Dozzell looks like an LTC replacement, but younger. Imho they actually developed LTC more, he took more risks with more forward passes rather than sideways and just before he got injured it was working.

Looks like he drops deep and then likes to spray it around, but unlike LTC will go direct with it. I think we can develop him, the only worry is he had an ACL already. But that's probably why we can get him cheap as he's an injury risk.

Warbs ball will suit him and the coaching team can develop players a lot. The JoJo comparison is because he's also left-footed, but it's really to replace LTC from what I can see. If we do sign him I can see the LTC contract offer being rescinded.

From what I have seen of the show reals and what has been side, I think this could be a useful signing. We need to keep doing this as I can see Chair and Willock being sold for mega £££ sometime soon. The factory must keep identifying them and churning them out for play and then sale.

Even if this transfer goes through we still need JoJo or a player like him if we cannot get the new messiah :P. We also need another LB in case Wallace gets injured, suspended, tired, loses form. For me, Niko looks happier as a Winger than even a LWB. And when we dispense with Todd Kane, we shall need a new RB.

I want to see more of Bettache, he has not been given enough mins. I like him, he looks solid and tough. More like a Wilkins type player than a Chair type player.

zzzzzzzzzz

Fair play Dmm as I said earlier Amos is a rare breed nowadays being adept at using his left foot.

If only Illias Chair could replicate that ability then….
