Just incredible viewing, surpassed by incredible piloting, not since the crazy days of Kai Tak.
That said, I can only but imagine what the passengers are going through. I was once on a plane that had to abort landing, scary as anything.

I had three aborted landings in one go at Kathmandu airport on a Beat up old Bangladesh 737, we'd gone from beautiful sightings of the Himalayas to pitch black tropical storm in minutes this was 3.00pm in the afternoon.
The third attempt the screaming from the passengers was even worse as was the vomiting of people, (mainly kids).
First two landings we hit the runway bloody hard, third attempt pilot pulled up about 100 feet from the ground just as the plane got absolutely drenched, (the noise was the worst). I was sat right at the front the female stewards looked terrified.
Flew straight up and went back to Bangladesh.
Never did go back and do the Nepal hippy trail after all. |  |

1987 I was living in Bracknell but working at Frimley at the Bejam depot, slept through the storm and set off at 6-00 as usual, wondered why the car in front was going so slow, realised when I tried to over take and half the road was full of debris,picked a mate up in crowthorne, and kept getting pushed right because of fallen trees, got to work at 10.00, There was a power cut, got thanked by the boss for getting in despite being 3 hours late as in his word “ all the lazy bastards that livel locally haven’t made it in”
