Sat in the Maple Leaf all afternoon with a friend debating the odds of another England win. Looked odds on to lose at the start of our second innings given the propensity of the top order being so fragile and a captain who wants to hit the leather off every ball and a fourth/fifth pitch that was starting to become uneven . However at the 100-0 things did look promising before a series of quick dismissals/shooting ourselves in the bowlocks. But 119 to win with 7 wickets is even I would say it is now 50/50. Just hope we can do the job in the morning and shove it right up Kholi’s objectionably arrogant arÅ›e. |  |

Root and Bairstow got us to this point last night by setting “Bazball” to one side and just playing sensibly; taking the many singles offered by the wide spread Indian field and just putting away the odd bad ball.
Really hope they continue that approach this morning and don’t rush to get it over by lunchtime. | | | |

Far too much talk of 'proper Test batting' under Silverwood, and shown up for the utter nonsense that it was. As Bayliss says, what people describe there is not Test batting, it's English batting. 'Bazball' is how the Aussies play all the time. It's positive, attacking cricket.

Thanks to a friend of a friend type thing, I will be representing Leicestershire CC and donning the Charlie Fox outfit for the Mascots Race between the two semi-finals, as well as doing all the mascot flag-wavy stuff at the beginning of the day.
