Chair 22:21 - Aug 30 with 3584 viewstraininvain

What a performance. Didn’t stop pressing and pure class on the ball. His work rate in recent weeks should be an example to every player in the squad.

Any coincidence that both Chair and Dozzell are quickly improving under Beale.

MOTM again, I thought.

Without a doubt. 9/10 performance. Chair was a man possessed tonight.

Anyone see Armstrong head straight down the tunnel at the end. Looked like he had the hump.

That hump might well have been a Hull defender still hanging off him

Someone told me he picked up a knock right at the end so went straight off at the end.

Never knowingly right.

Yep. Masterful. Clear MoTM.

I bet his stats are high for distance covered as well as affecting the game.
Comes alive playing with Willock.
If we get a striker it will be a headache for Beale to fit Roberts in.

Smells like a trout farm in here

Yeah thought he was MOTM - top performance. Dozzell has also impressed me so far this season. More mobile than last season and is making an impact during games, they’re not passing him by so much. On form, he’d make my first eleven with Steff sitting out which I didn’t think I’d say at the start of the season

Fair enough. Armstrong plays with passion which I like. But if we get another striker in before the window closes, I’d be tempted to loan him out. He needs to be getting more minutes and we saw the benefit with Eze and Chair.

Gareth has lost Akinfenwa. Just thought I'd mention it...

Couldn’t agree more, never saw this work rate under MW, I thought at times last year he didn’t put in much of a defensive shift which cost us a few points. That goal was something special he was celebrating as it left his foot. Almost rewarded with an assist for his closing down lead to the Dykes miss.

Is it just a coincidence that MB said he wants another midfielder and they all up their game.

Remember - because we signed Leon Balogun the development brief has gone out the window heads must roll...Oh wait over reactions are just over reactions! Chair gone up a level since Sunderland, our boy's growing up

Chair was immense.

Overshadowed Willock today.

If Chair and Willock are with us all season and injury free, it going be very exciting season.

Chair added pace and stamina to his game. Outstanding at closing down.

What a goal.

Crikey.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Don't think anyone else has mentioned it, but there was a pass Chair played through to Dozzell in the box in the first half that was just pure filth. A clip of that is trending on PornHub right now. Errr, apparently.

I also thought they way he struck the ball for his goal was ridiculous. A little flick, nothing more.

My MOTM too, but I thought Jojo was very very good too. Won the ball for the first and third goals, goodness, who thought we'd be this happy just three games after Blackpool?

He is! That’s why he’s playing so well.

Don’t be an arse.

He and Willock can tear the arse from any defence in this league. Willock scored in every ge he's started hasn't he?
What an exciting pair. Let's hope the inevitable sale of both is invested wisely Brentford style.

Roll on 11 p.m. Thursday. I want to enjoy much more of Illy and Willy before either/both get their dream move. Or perhaps they don't need to move if we continue playing like this?

Agree with this thread but if anyone thinks he didn’t work his nits off for MW they weren’t playing attention. His work rate has always been prodigious.

Bare bones.

It does seem like he ups his performance when Willock is on the pitch .
He's a great little player but some of the concerns last season and earlier in this one were legit.
He's still not the finished article but if he continues this type of form week in and out we've got ourselves a gem.

I agree he has always worked hard. But I also think he has increased his intensity.

Maybe not a big difference in the mileage covered but he definitely is doing more short sprints when closing down this year. And he follows the pass often back to pressure the keeper with intense sprints

Noticeably different to last year

MB is squeezing more out of Chair and also Dozzell on that front this year.

I was at palace last night and Zaha scored a worldly seen Chairs goal this morning and think it was better.I have always rated him as far as PL goes his height will obviously deter buyers wouldn’t me though.

Agreed.

I think they've all increased their intensity, and their physicality as well.
We tackle in twos and threes now and we're not afraid of putting the body into the tackle as well, not just dipping an apologetic toe.
I said on the match thread last night that it was a joy to watch. We're used to being a soft touch for many of the seasons at the Bush. Would be nice if that changed permanently.
