MC has got to go 21:59 - Nov 5 with 58428 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | Sorry, but that has done it for me. You don't put a right footed player, you don't trust, at left back, yet leave your left footed defender at right back. Fcking stupid. A shapeless, gutless performance. Players walking, not challenging, arguing with each other. No shape, no desire. Something has to happen and fast as we have relegation written all over us. ***having had a good night's sleep, I don't want MC sacked, I just can't sit through this anymore. I actually hate this club at the moment.*** [Post edited 6 Nov 6:38]

MC has got to go on 22:40 - Nov 5 by THEBUSH | Marti, what have you done? We were wide open, all over the place. . Trying to play open, expansive football, with the players we have, won't work. Our defenders had no protection, whatsoever. Marti, what have you done? |
Open incisive football? What game were you at ? We played , yet again, slow motion football with players jogging and hiding. We made a very average boro Look like world beaters. In the past you all blamed Les but sorry guys this one is on Marti he is not the messiah just a very poor organiser of his resources.

I like what MC says and am taking it the Leeds game is gone. So the next 3 after that are Stoke, Cardiff and Watford - we take nothing from them and either Uncle Neill or Big Sam will be on the blower.

MC has got to go on 23:08 - Nov 5 with 3046 views | Watford_Ranger | Don’t get me wrong Santos is most likely crap and certainly not a left-back but he was the only senior option to play the position against possibly the best right-footed right winger in the league. Was always asking for trouble and he needed someone ahead of him who can help out for better than Chair can. Cifuentes isn’t perfect by any means but this is first and foremost about the players (via Nourry et al). We’ve recruited woefully in various respects, had some bad luck with a few of the key injuries but unforgivably gambled on the likes of JCS and Colback staying fit for 40 games. You can get away with one of those three.

No. He should have played Saito there from the start and put Smyth where Saito was if he had to. Saito would have stuck on and stayed with their right winger.
MC has got to go on 23:11 - Nov 5 with 3006 views | Jimboqpr | For me, I don't think it would make a difference like it did when we sacked Ainsworth last season. The major differences are I think this group of players are (on the whole) still fighting for the manager, they're just not very good. Martis team choices, formations and tactics mostly make sense and help them not lose 4-1 more often in my opinion. Most of the goals we let in are due to terrible errors and really poor play. Simply put, it'd be like moving deckchairs around on the titanic and i don't think there's a manager who could do any better with that available group of players currently. We'd probably go for someone like Stephen Schumacher if we were to sack him though, and he'd face the same sh*tshow Marti has to deal with. The recruitment and running of this club are the problem not the manager.
MC has got to go on 23:12 - Nov 5 with 2993 views | BklynRanger | If it transpires Marti pushed to bring in Madsen, Celar, Santos, keep Anderson and switch to Ashby at the lat minute instead of Hayden then I can agree. If not for me it comes down to recruitment. Borough may not be worldbeaters but they're miles ahead of us in just about every position, while we're still trying to bring a jumble of different square pegs in round holes up to speed. Marti isn't blameless by any means - Santos is never a full back let alone a left back. and Madsen needs to come on for 20 minute spells after a massive shot of adrenaline, but the options available seem to be the biggest issue for me. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
MC has got to go on 23:14 - Nov 5 with 2966 views | LongRanger | Marti has made some bad decisions and deserves criticism for it, but he’s a good manager and isn’t the reason this club is where it is at the moment, it’s the result of years of mismanagement and a 26 year old narcissist
MC has got to go on 23:18 - Nov 5 with 2926 views | Cammington | If we're ejecting people from the club, we start with the CEO/DOF and head of recruitment and work from there. Another manager will not turn this around.
MC has got to go on 23:21 - Nov 5 with 2890 views | bosh67 | I don't think Marti (or Nourry) expected JCS, Frey, Dembele, Colback, Chair (seemingly again with a bad knee injury) Paal and Fox to be out of contention for so much of this season so far. That is 7 players who would either start or be on the bench. Not making excuses for Marti but f*ck that is a lot of either experience or attacking ability out. Expect Chair to be out some time with the knee injury now as well. Changing manager will do f*ck all.

He had better players to work with last season , the squad we have now has zero chance of staying up , Oh and for those wanting yet another new manager david Wagner was at the game sat , far as I can remember he’s without a club and not even sure he’s based in the Uk so did seem same to see hi. Going into the ground on sat before the game , he was playin the type fog game that nourry think we can play at Norwich also [Post edited 5 Nov 23:32]

MC has got to go on 23:45 - Nov 5 with 2649 views | mart_Goblin | Attention seeking thread . But….big questions have to be asked tonight . I said to my son before the game that our big problem tonight is Middlesbrough’s midfield. Howson and Magree are experienced and wise and clever players . Different to Sunderland who were energetic but much more inexperienced. Add Azaz into that and it’s a strong middle of the pitch . Now I’m no footballing expert but after 2 minutes we could see that Azaz was dropping in the hole between our defence and our midfield and was the out ball time after time after time . And no one reacted to it . Not once ! Not MC , not the skipper, not Sam Field who surely could see it all happening . But most importantly Marti. He must have seen how easily they were playing through us and around us..literally men against boys . If he saw it he did nothing and if he didn’t see it then that’s incompetence, but either way it’s very very very poor. Now I’m one of Marti’s biggest fans but I can’t let him get away with that tonight . Of course I don’t want him gone . What will that achieve ? Changing the manager again and again and again doesn’t solve anything . We just keep circling the drain and we will go this time I fear. But MC himself needs to shape up quick or whether I want it or not , he’ll be down the road and Nourry will be pinning all the blame on him. About time us as fans started making noises in nourry’s direction. We all just leave like zombies after defeat after defeat after defeat…numb. At a loss. Well let’s start asking Nourry and Ruben some questions here because what really has happened here since May? [Post edited 5 Nov 23:50]

Well someone has a penchant for powderpuff players and I suspect you can’t just point the finger at Nourry. One things for certain, on his watch he’s employed a significant number of players who can’t handle the physicality of this league. Week after week the team effectively get beaten up. The rump of the squad that doesn’t get beaten up, Dunne, Cook, JCS, Field, Colback, weren’t his signings. Can we trust him to rectify that in the January transfer window, more importantly can we wait to find out?

Nail hit squarely on the head. Who thought some of these players had the physicality or desire to play Championship football. Saito & young Morgan showing more courage in the air, in the tackle and in showing for the ball than Andersen, Madsen & Celar tonight, shameful.
MC has got to go on 00:11 - Nov 6 with 2493 views | NorthantsHoop | Stick with Cifuentes but this might be the season that our luck finally runs out, we were run ragged by Boro. For me the warning signs were flashing big time at Derby against a very average team. I thought we had turned a corner on Saturday but we haven't, looked very disjointed tonight. Thought Boro were a much better team than Sunderland to be honest their no.50 Doak the Liverpool loanee totally tearing it up on the right side and Lath scoring the third goal now that is a striker for this league; which we don't have.
MC has got to go on 00:20 - Nov 6 with 2439 views | Hunterhoop | Quite. We have a squad full of injuries. Where’s our Head of Performance (new speak for “Fitness”) and allegedly close ally of Nourry? In Dubai. Who identified and signed these players? Nourry and Belk. What other options did we have at LB tonight? Saito? That was it. Instead he played the spare right full back there, just like he did with Ashby. I think Santos is a low level non league footballer, but Cifuentes wasn’t swimming in options. Madsen at 10 today off Celar. I would never have played him. Never would. Bloke is a coaster. It’s like playing with 10 men off the ball. But with the injury list, who could he have played? EDB? That’s it. What message would that have sent? If this bloke is a £3m central midfielder and you’re down to bare bones, play the bloke and see if he comes good. It’s not unreasonable. Who else could play centre forward? Lloyd? Lots of heart. Like him. But there is very little (to date) to suggest he will be a career Championship player. Instead you have your £1.75m new signing at centre forward fit and available. Not unreasonable to play him. Christ, one of our better players was an 18 year old let go from Spurs’ youth set up today. We have our main starting midfielder at centre half. We were fielding a visibly heavy Ilias Chair, who has clearly been brought back too soon. Perhaps Cifuentes should have left him out, but for who? Smyth? Ridiculed on her. Kolli or Lloyd? What experience? They did well supporting the left back against West Brom at home. This season’s failings are squarely on Nourry and Belk. We had money to spend. First time in years. We had the choice to sell Dykes and Armstrong. They could choose the positions to invest in. And look at our squad now. Santos at left back, Celar up top, Madsen in midfield….it’s all a reflection on Nourry’s decision making. Man Child CEO & DOF with zero leadership experience and very limited football experience playing Football Manager with our club. The owners need to wake up before their enormous investment depreciates even further in value. They have bought another bullsh*ters spiel.

Who says Marti has had any influence on the signings I believe that's out of his hands Nourry and Belk do that I believe If it was Marti possibly he would have to go, I agree but I don't think he has had any input whatsoever on that. But am sure the club will get rid of Cifuentes and the recruitment will continue to be dreadful but we will have a worse coach !! Apart from that fantastic idea !!!!!!!!

None of us have any clue who is responsible for the signings this summer despite your opinion. If Cifuentes is not responsible for any of them then he’s a fool for signing a new contract with so little impact or influence and willing to sacrifice his own career. He seems like his own man not a weak yes man. [Post edited 6 Nov 0:36]

I agree he’s deserving some blame. Don’t pick Madsen. Don’t play Andersen and Madsen together. Don’t play Santos. Play a 3 man midfield and shore things up. I get it. He is not without blame. But he is not the root cause. He showed us last year he is a good manager. In a scientific experiment, he is the constant.

I just think there are signs that Marti is not in control The signing of the new keeper and then him putting two keepers on the bench suggest that he has no control of recruitment It is along the lines when Warburton was peed off with being told to rely on youth, and only put five players on the bench as a two fingered salute and he left soon after. I fear Cifuentes will leave soon and I reckon he will do very well somewhere else. This is all on those in the board rooms. Cifuentes for me is our most clued in coach since Warburton but this club f**ks up way too often. Cifuentes will have a successful career but sadly not here as he will be the fool guy !!
