He was poor today, he's not the only one, today's defeat was to a much better team whether you like It or not. From the bloody Manager all the way down to ALL of our players we got beat fair and square. Nardi's form has dipped for some reason, apparently we have a Manager, let him sort It out. I'm not defending Nardi but he's not the reason for that debacle today.

I agree but Nardi has had two months to get his head round the situation.

It's a convenient excuse for someone who is not doing their job well enough. He chooses to stay on his line. He sets the walls up for free kicks. He has to take responsibility for his own actions. A new keeper in January is a must unless we have enough points on the board to be satisfied that relegation is almost impossible then perhaps we wait until the summer.

I dont buy this sorry. It may or may not be true but heard he had indicated his family were not settled in the UK. He had a poor second half of the season last year, IMHO and he has cost us goals two games in a row now. Keeper has to be number one priority for January unless there is some kind of turnaround

I'm not saying he shouldn't be replaced but don't be surprised when you treat players poorly there performances drop RB is also an issue but has been for years 🤷

Yeah I guess so, but ultimately some players just see it as a job and aren't that emotionally invested in the same way we are.
| Nardi on 05:07 - Nov 2 with 4920 views | QPROslo | I'm not sure Nardi did too much wrong today, that 1st free kick was excellent. The 2nd if Nardi is responsible for setting up the wall then he was at fault putting Saito in the middle of it. Otherwise there was one cross he parried dangerously straight up in the air in the box. The other 2 goals were out poor defensive work against good play from them. | | | |

Nardi was not at fault for the first free kick, that was all down to the absolute shît defending by Cook. He should have let that long ball from the kick off drop behind him for the keeper, he had plenty of time to assess the situation but chose to head the ball for what was a pathetic clearance that led to the free kick. Cook is a total liability. Too slow and his distribution is also very poor. Mbengue must be a starter ahead of him every time. Cook is costing us another defender as a result of activating his additional one year. But Nardi, although not the greatest keeper, his ability or lack of is not his fault. If we have a goalkeeping coach then where is he with regards to coaching catching the ball in challenging situations? Why do we bring everyone back for corners and crowd our own goal mouth as a consequence. Makes it even more difficult for him. Stick two players on the halfway line and then you have two extra opposition players back with them, that’s four people out of the penalty area. Leave the likes of Chair, Smyth, Demebele or Saito on the half way line, we won’t miss their height but they have speed and the likelihood is that defenders will have to drop back who will be taller. It also means that there is less likely a recycle of the ball for a second cross into the congested goalmouth.

I hadn't thought of it like that. I always wondered if the reason we did it is because we needed even the short players as blockers - 'if Nardi's not coming out we need to make sure no oppo players go in on him' kind of thing.

| Nardi on 09:44 - Nov 2 with 4596 views | YBlockW12 | Cook headed the ball from their keeper five yards inside our box which led to the free kick at the beginning of the second half from which they scored. Nardi should have been collecting that but he won’t because he thinks their is a forcefield on the edge of his six yard box! As for the wall, this is always decided pre-game in the changing room and the training pitch, the coaches will always tell the players who is number 1, 2, 3 and so on relative to what the keeper requires, the subs are then told before they come in if they are in a wall. Maybe we are the only club in pro football who have decided that it is best to put your shortest players in the wall! Bet Nunez couldn’t believe his luck when he was looking over the ball, the second free kick was a foregone conclusion. This is down to the coaching staff. Unfortunately Nardi is trying his best but his best is not championship standard. We urgently require a new keeper. | | | |
| Nardi on 09:51 - Nov 2 with 4561 views | Watford_Ranger | I’m no more qualified than anyone else but I did play in goal at a low level and the one thing I always had drilled into me and I was very good at was communicating with the defence. Can’t tell from the stands but it feels like he’s not talking nearly enough to the centre-halves and/or they don’t trust him when he does. The total aversion to commanding his area is painful to watch but any keeper at any level can talk. | | | |

Second goal was a complete clusterf*ck. As per your first paragraph and DW above, the long ball was going nowhere - possibly straight out or an easy collection for most keepers. Cook’s header out was weak and the push (Hayden?) was unnecessary and brainless (if a bit soft?) From my seat in SAR, the free-kick looked unstoppable but have just seen the highlights from the other side. Oh dear, what was Nardi doing. That goal completely did for us as we had worked well to get back in it and the better team (just) for much of the first half. Climbing that hill twice was too much for us.
