W Ham losing last night good or bad thing? 10:50 - Jan 7 with 4251 viewswelwynranger

IMO it's a good thing because I believe they will pick a weakened team.
To save players for the league must wins they have coming up in the next few weeks.
Realistically they are not going to win the FA Cup, but they must stay in the Prem.
They can't fill the ground now. If they go down which is very likely its a financial disaster.
That's what I think.

But it could all become irrelevant if the usual QPR cup team go there.

Let's hope we go for the jugulasr and tear them a new one.
Give the 9000 plus something to sing about and be proud of.

On the contrary, I think they’ll play the first team to integrate their new strikers as quickly as possible - for the first hour at least. They need to improve quickly so they should see this as essential training time.

I'm curious to see how many home fans actually turn up for it.

Judging by the number of empty seats last night not many

If Nuno's still in charge by Saturday I cant see him picking a weakened team, as he's fighting to hang on to his job so every game is important to him. If he's sacked this week though then they might pick some more kids with a temp manager in charge with nothing to lose. It'll be hard game for us regardless. Hopefully they'll give our supporters going to the game a decent showing though. Its about time we did something in a cup other than embarrass us fans. Other than the injuries we have, there's no reason not to give it a really good go and pick as strong as a 11 as we have. The 'we need to focus on the league' excuse we've had for the past 2 seasons whilst we've been in relegation battles just isn't valid this season with not much chance of going up or down.

I think it would have been a great result for any team that takes the cup seriously...but for us I don't think it really matters, as I think we will mug it off...... again

They really can't afford to play their Import players with the risk of injury.... can you imagine the backlash if Bowen or someone got injured and was out for a few weeks

They may go strong from the start with the hope of seeing us off in the first 45... and make changes. I think though they will make wholesale changes, have a decent bench

West Ham need a win, any win, as they haven't had one in god knows how long so the Manager's job is on the line and the natives are getting restless.

I think a West Ham win last night might have given them a little breathing room so I think Forest winning is not good for us.

I'd be surprised if they play a weakened team plus, as said, they've got new players they'll want to bed in as quickly as possible.

Anyways, we have no control over what oppositions do, we just got to sort out our own team/strategy etc. and go from there.

Watching that Wet Spam team last night, they look bereft of confidence and there will never be a better time to play them. Even Nuno looked ready to throw the towel in

Either way we will be playing them next season I suspect as overcoming what is in effect an 8 point gap is unlikely to happen I feel

Assuming he lasts that long, I wonder if they’ve had a word and agreed the game against us more or less doesn’t matter and to focus on the league game after (Spurs I think). They’ll not be happy if they sack it off but the board aren’t going to give a toss about a cup run so I don’t see them risking the key players i.e. Bowen as nobody else available is particularly key. New signings will probably play, Wan-Bissaka is knocked out the AFCON but I’d imagine won’t.

They’ll still have a £20m goalkeeper and a team that cost north of £100m out even if it’s not worth £100.

David Sullivan will take charge of the team and play Lev Yashin in goal

It'll be a mindset thing. Will the first team care about us, the cup, who knows. But, the bench warmers will be happy to get game time, put in a performance.

Don’t think they’ll opt for Kevin Keen after his performance on PopMaster on GHR yesterday. Still, credit to him for having a go.

Its all in Rangers hands.

Put a strong team out (unlikely), get right in their faces from the off, few early reducers, feed the Kone a bone, and 9,000 charlied Rfosi....'kin 'ave it!!!

A good thing because whatever happens on the pitch we can serenade their fans with ‘we’ll see you all next year’ for 90 minutes+.

Fulham won there before Christmas and sang “Say hello to QPR” a reference to Wet Spam’s probable descent to the Championship rather than the Cup game. Warms my heart when Fulham sing about us. Shows they care.

This my view as well.

They will go strong as they need a win to get things going.
That aside, even with half a dozen rested they have some great players on the edges such as Potts who was very good on loan at Pompey last season, the fella with dreads who came on last night looks a player, they have a young N.I. international striker, etc, etc.

I do think we'll get filled in but it's the nature of it that will be key for me.
Lose with 100% effort and I'll not be too botherd - start waving the French alternative national flag with team selection and a going through the motions approach and R's fans will be rightly livid.

IF they keep Nuno (which I think they will) and this game doesn't go well for them then I would expect plenty of empty seats and demonstrations from the not so 'appy 'ammers.
They need seven wins and four draws minimum to stay up over the remaining 18 games to have a chance of staying up. That is a proper tough ask but still do'able but the key thing needed is confidence and momentum - where better to start than a lumpy cup win I suppose?!

Having sat through their game last night I can confirm that West Ham are proper shyte. Forest thoroughly deserved the win.
Bar Jared Bowen, West Ham don't offer much, but with 5 or 6 starters out for us I still think a comfortable 2/3-0 win to them.
If everyone was available I'd have backed us to win.

Fully expect a 2nd string QPR to play. Bennie, Esquadinha, Tylon Smith, Isak Aleymayehu to start or be on the bench.

I really don't think it matters a jot whether the home fans are up for this or not. For one thing, all the fans are so far from the pitch that it's unknown whether the players can even hear them (!) and for another, they've been up for Premiershite games without managing to affect their team one jot.

As for the gaffer, I don't think he'll field a much weakened team - lose to us and he can almost definitely kiss his job goodbye

Shit but local

IMO a good thing. The crowd will get on their backs the longer the game goes on with it either drawing or if we are in the lead (calm down, I know).

Smells like a trout farm in here

Redknapp's thrown his hat into the ring, saying he'd manage the Hammers "for nothing" .

We're officially in the silly season .

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Please let it 'appen.

By "for nuffink" I assume he means no wage but a huge bonus if he keeps 'em up and around £1Mill into Rosie's old account as severance once he leaves in May.

The current Board there are aware of historical whiffs and are savvy (tight b'stards).
I'd be amazed if they considered him for a nano second
