Think thats a good move for Bennie.
Hopefully with consistent game time, he can improve the technical side of his game more.
Am not certain yet whether he could be effective at championship level but he is not massively far off. This gives him time on the pitch, playing some games at a reasonable level and it either improves his saleability or it allows ourselves to have another option up top

I have an aunt and uncle that moved to Dundee to take early retirement.
My uncle though hates the Scots. Bit weird considering he chose to move there. He said they are all on the dole, and all on the sauce all day long.
No mention of cakes though.

I totally agree, you really want your prospects playing as high a level on loan as possible.
However, there are potential advantages of a 'first' loan to the lower leagues. It does get the pup out of their comfort zone and may well work to build some confidence. Being adaptable, living away from home and thus, having to manage yourself for anyone is a good thing at that age. It may also make some appreciate the opportunity they have at the Rangers and spur them on to try harder so that they don't end up flatlining at a level that no one dreams of playing at!
So, I would not rule it our per se, but if a pup isn't progressing up the leagues with loans, then adieu. |

i obviously am not ITK, but I think on a couple of occasions, Kolli has refused a loan. ie He believes he is at this level already. Yes thats probably reading from others on here, but it does seem feasible.
Finishing wise, he is good enough, but personally even though he could be a half decent bench option, I still think he would benefit playing week in, week out in league one for half a season.

As for Bennie, great move for both parties - he’s never going to be a player at anything like this level so if he does well there’s a chance of getting some money back for him. As for him, yes it’s a terrible standard but there’s more money up there than the National League and every third game is at Ibrox or Celtic Park anyway.

We all said the same about Smyth a few years ago too.
He's young, he needs 2/3 seasons playing before this level. Not many are good enough for the championship at a young age. |  |

The kid’s 19, playing at statistically the 6th or so highest league in the World, I find it incredible how quickly some of our fans write off players so quickly.
I like him, he’s raw, but strong and has a bit of pace. That performance against Derby, I think it was Derby?, was really good. Compare his first 20 games for QPR with Madson for example and then consider how well Madson did since. Same for Morgan, who gets a bit of a free pass, I can’t see much difference in their performances for QPR last season. | | | |

Where are you getting that data from and which season(s) does it relate to?
If it's fairly recent then it might be skewed by Sunderland having a very young squad.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but U-21 players accounting for roughly 10% of Championship playing time does look surprisingly high to me! |  | | |
