No I wouldn't expect them to make the team worse and they didn't, until Burrell had to go off. But in all honesty, Burrell did not look fit against Swansea and I would not have elected him against Derby, even if Williams said he was fit.

What the data doesn't tell you is that Beale only got one point from his last five games and by then had lost Willock and Amos to lengthy injuries caused by him rushing them back too soon.
The rest of the league had worked him out, he didn't have any answers, and left behind a mess.

I mean Stephan may well be fishing around, but he is very much Nourry's man whereas Cifuentes definitely wasn't.
So I don't think the optics would be very good for Nourry if he opted to sack Stephan.
If Stephan finds himself another job then that's another matter.
There's no hard evidence that Cifuentes was angling for a move.
When the story went public West Brom were very quick to say that he was not on their shortlist.
Given their subsequent managerial appointments are we really supposed to believe West Brom didn't think MC was good enough?
And Cifuentes himself wasn't linked to another job until the Leicester job came up, and that was a good three months after the West Brom job came open.
If Cifuentes was angling for a move he must have been using the wrong bait.

That was the narrative at the time. Not sure how true that was in reality though and it was pretty clear that Hoos and Nourry anted him gone. Hoos was openly slating Marti towards the end of the season

When Nourry joined QPR, he made a big thing about being key in recruiting Cifuentes. So, he definitely was his man - until he wasn't. From the official announcement:
"In the summer, Nourry led on RETEXO’s detailed audit of QPR, which was commissioned by the club’s owners. As part of this project, RETEXO were instrumental in the club’s identification and recruitment of Director of Performance Ben Williams and Head Coach Martí Cifuentes."

I'd be happier if he was our new left back. Even at 40, probably a better bet than any at our level.
That manager rumour came out on Sport Witness ten days ago, but had the feel of agent kite flying as it was us and Boro. Since then, he's now being touted in quite a few places as the new Chelsea coach, neck and neck with Fabregas. None of this - other than Fabregas to CFC - feels likely.

Obviously, he's a massive bullshtter. We know that. It's why he's in the gig.
With that in mind, Cifuentes *was* his man when Nourry was announced, back when Marti was new and shiny and popular immediately too. Whether he had any remote say in it or not, he hitched his wagon to the Marti party straight away. And I remember another interview at some later point that first season when he was at pains to say how well he worked with (extravagant pronunciation) "Mar-teee and Shavi".
But as much as he's a bullshtter, he obviously a very insecure narcissist and as soon as one has questioned him publicly or I imagine privately, he's no longer on your team. Which is what Marti and Stephan seem to have in common here.
Though I've been thinking about it, and I wonder if he'll be reigned in. It's a bad look for the club. Or whether JS has had enough anyway.

Seen in and around LR a week or so ago but that could be for any number of reasons .
However , with history starting to repeat itself and remembering a French ‘contingent’ was ever present at LR for the last 5 or 6 games of last season , you can see why rumours are rife .
