Damn, I saw him play (against Belgium) here in Vancouver, he was very impressive. Popped up all over the park and has goals in him. He can play on the wing but was also effective more centrally running at defences. Like him a lot and would have have loved him at Loftus Road.
If Vipotnik continues banging them in then I can definitely see Swansea in the top 8 this season. I think we bought the wrong Slovenian named Žan! |

Nourry wasn't CEO when Cook was signed, that was Hoos. Judging by the post about Cook's contract extension Nourry was furious about it (and I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that Marti deliberately played Cook enough times to trigger the extension just to spite Nourry).
Hayden was one of his, but I don't think signing an experienced pro in defensive midfield who'd just played for us and Portsmouth is a decision most people would have disagreed with at the time, and he got one year and then released when he didn't perform well enough. Nice gig for him. A good place to live I’d imagine and what sort of job was he realistically getting here or Spain? Second tier at best. He’s spun the line about progressive football again at the interview and probably has more chance of actually playing that way and building a reputation for himself than at Oxford or similar. | | | |

When you're paying silly money for just above average footballers, you need to do a fair bit of accounting jiggery-pokery to stay within the rules. You can't blame West Ham for selling 2 players for £150m, but Boro selling the best midfielder in the Championship for less than £20m and seeing it paid over 3 years shows where the power lies.
A better solution is not to pay silly money , either in transfer fees or wages. I won't hold my breath. |  |

47 Saudi-based players were at the World Cup.
OK, a lot of them were in the Saudi squad, but there were also players from France, Brazil, Portugal, England, etc.

I think his lack of impact was down to lack of motivation rather than his legs not working properly. When we signed him in the immediate aftermath of the Coventry debacle he likely expected to get regular game time. I believe he had a genuine affinity for the club after his previous loan spell. When the game time never really materialised (due to Nourry’s insistence on Varane playing) he (similar to Field) became disillusioned and consequently his performance levels dropped. |

when has nourry ever listened to the fans ? |
I find myself defending him and sounding like a big fan girl but I think he absolutely has listened to the fans about some things. He has definitely become more open and given more information about injuries etc. We all wanted a new goalie and he’s got two! Similarly with FBs We always used to moan about pre-season and being shambolic and it’s been much more organised the last couple of years. One year the matches abroad were behind closed doors, he hasn’t repeated that.
While I don’t believe he has ever picked the team, I do think he agrees overall strategy with the Board and the manager, so I think they all listened to us after the League Cup fiasco and went for it in the FA Cup against West Ham and he’d have been part of that discussion.
Clearly he doesn’t follow the fans about everything. And clearly he gets things seriously wrong and has upset a lot of fans. But to say he doesn’t listen at all is not balanced. So I can see why he might think getting loan players in permanently who happened to be popular isn’t an outlandish conclusion. |  | | |

can see both sides of this with him , i just dont belive what he says , maybe its how he says things maybe its his overall demeaner , as others have said his back history is full of large holes exp on experince , yes hes doing something way better but for example contract length is still top secret for some weird reason , the ben williams situation will be his achillies heel esp if those damn impact injuires start kicking in in the first month or so of the season ,

west ham he was never not gonna pick a as close full strenght team when he had 9k from rangers behind the team. this is his fourth season now lets hope hes learnt from his previous mistakes dosnt speak to the fans in his usual manner esp when things do go wrong , this is the season he will be fully judges esp if the big ticket items dont make the profit he badly needs for next season . | |

I see Watford are doing deals with Udinese again, surely this loophole needs closing, simple answer would be to ban transactions between clubs with the same owner.
No doubt there would be another loophole where a player goes via a 3rd club Ala Clive Allen to palace via Arsenal but they could easily bring in legislation for that as well. |  |
