I really hate the way some of these players stop and go, hesitating to try and get the goalkeeper to move first. I think it throws off their rhythm more than the goalkeepers. Just pick a spot, and run up an smash it there. |
Any player just needs to have a technique they are comfortable with be it a stutter, a run up and smash it whatever they want. Players tend to miss when they over think it or change what they had practiced [Post edited 30 Jun 15:46]

Agree but the problem with the stutter is that you need the keeper to move and if he doesn't you start to think 'oh f*ck what do I do now'! | | | |

I played at no kind of level at all, but whenever a striker stuttered his run up or did some poncy routine I immediately thought "I've got you now".

Lad who took the penalties at our junior school used to start his run from the half way line and then just toe punt the ball as hard as he could.
Never failed to score but, because we had no nets, it took ages for the match to resume as the opposition keeper invariably had to retrieve the ball from the infants school playground down the road. | | | |
