I thought we were good for 1st 25/30 mins but Cerkin was struggling against Morashita and Alibauso. It was a good move to replace him by Lamptey, who looked much better than last week. I'm not convinced either Madsen nor Kone are fully fit. They came out firing but the goal was an out of the blue worldie. Good move for the equaliser. Burrell showing his pace and Smyth arriving late. It was evenly poised at 1-1. Once we got the second we never really looked like giving it up. We look a decent side. With a plan and options off the bench. It probably won't be straightforward all season but I feel optimistic that we can finish top 8.
Morishita is excellent player. Technically great but also works hard. I think he will give all full backs a tough time. Cirkin needs some more games to get up to speed.

Good post pretty much exactly how I saw the first half and like multiple people mentioned Stephan read the situation beautifully and made the changes that won us the game fair play to him. Only negative from my couch it looked like Chair did not have a great game to back up his first 2 with his usual poor corners and free kick plus he missed cutting out a few dangerous Blackburn attacks just not on his toes. Kone is starting to be an issue that man needs a ball to bounce off his ass into the net pretty soon IMO
Stephan said in his after match that both the HT substitutions were planned. Cirkin because of a lack of pre-season training and Madsen due to recent injury.

Cirkin was great, actually. I doubt we will face a more testing right side than Alebisou and Morisita - he had his hand full with those two, as good an attacking right back and winger/10 combo as I recall at this level.
Luckily, they tired a bit, and obviously the plan was to bring on a fresh left back for the task anyway, but those two will surely not stay at Rovers long. Cirkin did a v good job up against them in the first 45. Right in front of us and it was hard yards!

Truthfully, we get about half a stand and thanfully, there is a roof. Long walk back to the station though.
Did it rain during the game?We were very dry at the back of the stand,and the 30 minute stroll back to the station was ok too.Certainly better than the weather forecast predicted.

I just watched Mowbrays post match interview and he was very complimentary about us and mentioned the passing out from the back. They just don't have the players or depth of squad to be able to press high.
Mowbray looked thoroughly miserable and I'm amazed he took the job, he also didn't look well.

Quick word on Blackburn, I thought they were reasonably decent, at least in terms of a team that isn't going to be in a serious relegation scrap.
I thought Cantwell and Morishita looked pretty decent but other than them, nobody really stood out. The team moved the ball quickly but seemed to run down blind alleys at times.
They should be alright this season.

Agree. Cirkin had his hands full with those two. Alebisou absolutely tormented Wolves. Will go for between 8-10 million at the end of the season. Quality player.

No, he wasn't. He had a very poor game and knew it at half time. He'll get better though,

Five academy players on the bench without a single appearance between them would suggest they're in trouble.
I tipped them to be relegated and I still stand by it. We're only 3 games in and they are turning to academy players already.
