Caught the second half. Have been struggling to find streams so it's the first live performance I've seen.
Some good stuff. Good squad, lots of options.
I really like the Chair substitution and the tweak to the tactics to lock up midfield. Proactive and good thinking just when we were starting to sit back.

Lots to like and a few things to improve on which I think will come.
My takeaways, if thats Lampty just getting started cant wait to see more.Great to see Burrell get his goals. Justin Obikwu lives! Dunne and Edwards is a lovely partnership, Dunne especially is showing some brilliant leadership, performances have been top level. Kamara looks to have a bit of everything about him very decent signing.

Never look a win as a disappointment, but I have to say that as a whole was hard bloody work
We can't disguise the fact that in 2 home games we have had the best part of 40 shots and only scored 2 goals
Yes plenty of positives tonight.... our approach play was at time breathtaking... some of our one touch football was beautiful... but the final part was pretty average
Lampty is a class above.. the guy is far far too good for this league.... Kamara also look above championship standard as did Edwards ... 3 really really good players
Burrell great to see him score, but could have had 4 or 5 and should have. Lloyd is a real tryer and decent tonight
Thought the subs were a little negative tonight would like us to have brought on Smyth for perhaps Saito ....
The negative must be us being so wasteful in front of goal. As said first real test Saturday.... and we need to be on our game for this

I look at it differently. I think the performances are a better indicator of the future than the results are. That applies to goals as well as points. I feel better knowing that we created 40 chances and scored 2 than of we'd have created 3 and scored 2 of them. The conversions will come and when they do we're going to put 5 past someone at HQ.

First game I have watched this season and some really encouraging stuff.
Lamptey the standout, and Kamara looks really classy. Thought Madsen didn't have his best game.
Missed some decent chances, Vale the main culprit.. would have liked to see Smyth come on and give us some pace down that right flank.. the 4 subs at once nearly blew up in our face, improved a little when Chair came on, but I was getting England v Argentina vibes and thought we might shit the bed.. Will be nice when more players can complete 90 minutes, as I am guessing most of those subs were fitness related and not tactical.
Lloyd is a good runner, but would rather see him come on to close games than start them.
One thing that stood out was the keeper's distribution didn't seem all that today, whereas the previous games everyone has raved about it, seemed average at best. Maybe just a bad day at the office, and to be fair the trend for the game seemed to be misplaced passes.. Overall more positives than negatives but god, that last twenty minutes was tense.
Kamara, Lamptey and Burrell (at least until the last 15 minutes, when he was clearly gassed) all excellent, Edwards and Dunne both very good (that assist for the 2nd goal was a thing of beauty), had a bucketload of shots & should really have won far more comfortably, once again took an absolute screamer to beat Charles.
Saito and Vale looked out of sorts, think we struggled in both full-back positions after Mbengue tired & Lamptey went off, consistently gave Cardiff’s wide players too much room, and on another day / against better opponents we’d have got punished for missing so many excellent chances.
Cardiff looked much better than expected, had that sinking feeling when they scored but delighted to see us tough it out. You can tell that the mindset’s different this season, real belief running through the team. Really enjoyable game, solid performance and a positive result against good opponents. I know what you mean but I’d say it was frustrating rather than disappointing. We were so clearly the better side trying to play really decent football but it was just too frantic with so many misplaced passes and chances not taken.
I was furious that we were hanging on at the end and, despite winning, I reckon JS would be furious too.

After our 2nd we should have added 2 or 3 but then dropped too deep and invited the pressure. Ng's shot was a bit of a worldly..
Subs were pre planned, I guess.

The Hull assistant manager, Dean Holden, watching the game reckoned it was the best game he has seen so far this season.
It is frustrating we can't finish off chances and win more comfortably. You see Swansea win 3-0 at Derby and Wrexham win 3-0 at Millwall and think we should have done that at least twice this season. Of course if you listen to Chris Sutton, a team is only as good as it's main striker. Anyway, having lambasted us for our propensity to follow up away wins by not winning the next game at home, I have to be content this time we won against a team up from league 1.
We have conceded three cracking goals already but why is it opposition players seem to be able to hit a ball far sweeter than we can when it comes to shooting? Is anyone capable of putting their foot through the ball and ripping the net off? If we could only get some power in our shots we might score more goals... |  | | |

I don’t always agree with Wilkins, but I can definitely see where he is coming from tonight. This was a hard watch, especially last 15 minutes, when we were literally hanging on. Willock had the freedom of the left wing although Adamson was a significant improvement on Mbengue. Yes of course in the immediate aftermath of Burrell’s second we should have had at least 2 more and then the game would have been out of sight and it would have been a much more relaxed final fifteen minutes. But we were out-played and out-passed in that final period and so we need to find a way to be much more clinical. | | | |

My first home game in ages, so very grateful for the win! Plenty of big positives, Lamptey and Kamara, wow, what fantastic acquisitions they are. And Rumarn bubbling back to top form. Was in the perfect position to view that gorgeous second goal, on my feet after Ronnie delivered that delicious pass and Rumarn finished with aplomb. Thought we were often profligate through the game though, some badly fluffed passes and chances - Harvey Vale was right off it first half, but despite Lloyd's golden chance miss I thought he kept the Cardiff defence tied up and honest.
Didn't like the ref much first half, seemed to favour them all the time, but better second. Thought the 4 changes were too much and we suffered, but unlike many I didn't feel nervous - we've got Jimmy (who was great again) and Ronnie after all. And a win's a win.
Big shout out to Spaceman, keep it going buddy - if you can get a result v Borough you'll justly deserve the Golden Fred. |  |
