Seems we’ve replaced London Calling with this. I couldn’t hear it much from the Lower School End over the boos it got.
I like the idea of something unique by a QPR fan but it sounds like someone used AI with the prompt “north london forever but make it west London and much worse”.

Maybe we look at it differently but I just don't see the need to say anything at all. Much like you wouldn't have gone up to someone playing in a live band in the pub and said "I'm not enjoying your music it's not good" - even if that's true and it was delivered respectfully there's still just no need to say it.
Social media is one of the worst things to ever happen to society - yes there are massive benefits but in general the way it's changed the world has been far more to the negative side.
There’s a few pubs I’ve been in where the band wasn’t much cop they would have bottles and glasses launched at them! ( not by me I hasten to add)
It's another thing that could have been avoided by just speaking to fans, the club are dreadful at this at the moment. Should have played the song 15 mins before kick off and left the rest the same, try it for a few weeks, explain the back story do a video of the guys who wrote it showing the process and it would have probably worked. The poor kids were just thrown under a bus here.

I can't think of a song about football that's any good. Even the ones that people rate aren't particularly special.
'3 Lions' is awful, 'Vindaloo' is word salad and 'World In Motion' had John Barnes recommending we 'get round the back'.
Writing a song about football is nigh on impossible because you either try to write something heartfelt and it comes off as trite, or you try to be punchy and you come off looking like a try-hard knobhead wearing Stone Island and Burberry.
Hand on heart, I didn't like the song but I don't hate the songwriters. They went into it with the best of intentions but ended up getting thrown to the mob.
There were better ways of doing this. A simple teaser campaign to put it in front of the fans via socials.
What about: + Graphic with a written lyric ('I know just where I want to go...') with instrumental snippet - 10 second vid, fade in / fade out, thru-black, QPR badge. + Follow up, new graphic ('bleeding blue and white...' Since 1882), different instrumental part (bridge or hook), fade in / fade out thru black, badge et al. + Next one, new graphic (West London till I die) this time with video of fans etc etc etc. + Introduce it through socials across a couple of weeks. Maybe do a piece with the musicians? Short form, sub 3 min interview about motivations, hopes etc.
In short, give the fcking thing a chance to succeed rather than bung it out cold with a lame-arsed 'let's get behind this' on the DJs Twitter. It was set up to fail.
Look, it's not fcking rocket science. Build up the interest and release it to an audience that is already warmed up. Not everyone is going to like it (it's music - no such thing as a song for everyone) but you avoid looking like you're trying to push this on the fans.
Not blaming the lads who wrote it. Poor show by the club.

Let the interest develop organically and without a heavy hand and see how it takes. 2) A lot of the more established club songs like Marching on Together for Leeds (written in 1972), and the Sky Blues song for Coventry (words written by Jimmy Hill and his Mrs, no less, based on a already existing tune) I think are pretty cringey too, but they are inextricably their clubs’s songs. Over the years they’ve become really established, maybe fans from years gone by were more forgiving, less critical and happy to actually have their own club song.
We don’t really have our own song and Captain Jack is more call/response and lyrically should remain on the terraces!! If we are to have one, it’s got to start somewhere.
I think we’ve missed a trick here, and the club have really mismanaged this. Constructive criticism is all well and good, but needs to be measured even if you don’t like it. These lads are our own after all.

it's a bit more than not winning on Sports day or picked for the team, if this is the career he's after he's had the piss taken out of him on social media, been on ITV Sport feed, the Palace fan HTCO which gets a lot of traction, it will have been very humiliating for him on top of the all the personal abuse he's getting. Whether he's 21 or 51 that is gonna affect you
JK Rowling was rejected numerous times before someone thought different. Eberechi Eze couldn't get a contract until some second tier outfit took a punt. Even The Beatles were famously rejected by Decca before someone realised they had it to be the most influential band ever.
The thing that links them all is that they believed in themselves, never gave up, and got their heads down and remained determined to make it.
I'd be surprised if anyone on here hasn't had to similarly front-up when life has bowled us a yorker. Rejection, failure, and hurdles are part of life. Overcoming them make you better and stronger. If the young lad is brittle, then he should take comfort from having a go, but rethink his career plans if he has to have 100% validation all the time, because he won't get it in the music game.
As Rocky said: it ain't how hard you get hit, it's how hard you can get hit and still get up and go forward. This could/should be the platform for him to push on. Good luck to him.
I’m probably going to get Pelters here but he’s not a kid he’s 21 at that age I was working 60 hours + a week in a frozen warehouse -28, had bought a flat so had a mortgage when there were hitting 14% and was driving myself and my mates up and down the country watching QPR. This all started when some loon decided that there shouldn’t be any losers and gave outmedals for mediocrity, we now have a generation that have t been used to being told that they aren’t good enough. I remember failing my first school team football trials I went home and cried, my Dad told me a few home truths, next year I made the team. His mum has done him no favours in this situation at all. It’s like when you get an appalling tone deaf singer on the X factor, surely their families must realise how bad they are but still push them into it.
It’s not about not having any losers or giving out medals for mediocrity, it’s about a balanced, reasonable response, instead of the apparent (I don’t swim in the Social Media sewer) spiteful, nasty pile-on.
This isn’t a dig at you but everyone’s reality is different. Just because theirs isn’t the same as yours doesn’t make either of you right or wrong.

I think you are right and that the club is trying to change things up.
Strictly speaking this isn't an issue that the club has to consult with the fans on.
But common sense should tell you that you will struggle to make it work without buy-in from the fans.
The club needs to own its mistake here. If it's determined to make changes to the 'matchday experience' then it needs to engage with the fans about it.

I think it's as simple as the Japanese Instagram football influencer - 2m followers - posting a reel after Cardiff with HHSL playing. QPR socials reposted it and someone thought, 'That would be good to get at the START of the game'.

The story here isn't really about the new tune or how good/bad it is, it's about how the club is being run by people with little understanding of fan culture and feeling, or of PR. And those resources are all available if they'd think to ask, but they don't. It's very amateurish.
I'd rather have the bloody "anthem" than Hi Ho Silver Lining before we kick off. Whoever is making these decisions just does not get it.
We have to earn the High Ho sing a long by winning the game that's what makes it special. As a victory song sung because it was a dedicated life long member of staffs favourite song. That is how something becomes a club anthem.
London Calling is and Anthem and is about identity, where we are from and that it is co written by a QPR fan.
Pigbag we just got used to over time.
Fine nothing stays the same for ever but whoever is making these calls does not understand their audience. Like a DJ who can beat mix but does not know how to work a room and build a set because they dont get the audience or that order is important

Yep, this for me.
I remember as a kid, the whole family would cheer when Trevor Francis was sung and the Shepherds Bush.
I think it's quite sad that HHSL was always seen, well to me anyway, as a song for when we win so we share the win with Daphne Biggs even though she can't be here anymore.
