Seems we’ve replaced London Calling with this. I couldn’t hear it much from the Lower School End over the boos it got.
I like the idea of something unique by a QPR fan but it sounds like someone used AI with the prompt “north london forever but make it west London and much worse”.

I hope the club has realised it's not going to work and drops the idea immediately, not least for the sake of the lads who wrote it.
I used to really like hearing Chumbawamba's Tubthumping back in 2001/2/3 when we'd dropped to the third tier. Not sure if it was played when teams came onto the pitch but it felt right not only because of the lyrics but also because the band was an anarchist collective - perfect for QPR!

I always think of you try and manufacture this stuff and force it then you get what you got last night, and look before you all go in on it I know one of the lads who worked on it personally and he’s a top lad, lifelong QPR from a QPR family, and will no doubt be a bit gutted this morning so… be nice.
We’ve got a great music heritage at QPR and a lot of the songs we use have grown organically through that, or were sung at away games etc. we ran out to bloody Fix You by Coldplay at one stage so we shouldn’t be too precious, but even that had a story behind it with Warnock and the YouTube montage etc.
Unfortunately tradition and fan consultation are not a priority for this regime and so you end up with stuff like this happening.
I feel sorry for the lads involved so please do be kind.

We Live and Die in These Towns was a proper song by a proper band though in the indie noughties by The Enemy, who were from Coventry, and are Coventry fans, very much like London Calling is to us.
Same way Kasabian tunes get a lot of airplay at Leicester City, it works when they are proper songs in their own right (whether you like the song is a separate matter, its not been written to shoehorn into football).
That song is just atrocious.
For what its worth, I do miss the Pompeii videos.
Dean's poem is far better, but it needs good music to accompany it.

Yes, sadly modern football loves a manufactured 'anthem'. Genuinely one of the best things about football culture are the organic chants and the cross-pollination between popular culture and the terrace.
The maddest thing about this song is that someone genuinely thought this was a good idea and ran with it.

I've made my view on the song itself pretty clear on socials since it emerged a few days ago. It's dreadful.
I do feel a little sorry for the lads who created it. I get the "dream come true" stuff of having their composition played etc etc.
What is most unpleasant about this is the imposition by the club. The club DJ was sent out to bat for it on socials yesterday. I find this really insidious. Has a whiff of the imposition of Tango and Cash's crap crest back in the day.
When I was on the Supporters Advisory Board, this wasn't the sort of thing the club would consult on. I can't say for certain the SAB weren't given pre-warning of this. My money is on "not".

A poor reflection on society today but as soon as I saw this was 'a thing' I was saddened by what I assumed the course of events would be - namely, a couple of young lads do something they're proud of, put it in the public domain and then the internet does its thing.
Some of the comments on X are just horrendous and completely unnecessary. Like it, loathe it, or feel indifference about it - but no need to have a go at the lads personally.
As someone far wiser than me once said, you can be anything in this world so why not be kind?

It’s very odd Fulham play it as Mick Jones is very much QPR. There’s nothing Fulham to that Clash song. Suppose they just like the line ‘I live by the river’. But I don’t want us becoming like Arsenal with their horrendous North London Forever whatever the weather song. They have the cringiest set of fans in the land.
