Seems we’ve replaced London Calling with this. I couldn’t hear it much from the Lower School End over the boos it got.
I like the idea of something unique by a QPR fan but it sounds like someone used AI with the prompt “north london forever but make it west London and much worse”.

We Live and Die in These Towns was a proper song by a proper band though in the indie noughties by The Enemy, who were from Coventry, and are Coventry fans, very much like London Calling is to us.
Same way Kasabian tunes get a lot of airplay at Leicester City, it works when they are proper songs in their own right (whether you like the song is a separate matter, its not been written to shoehorn into football).
That song is just atrocious.
For what its worth, I do miss the Pompeii videos.
Dean's poem is far better, but it needs good music to accompany it.
Agree that a song needs to be a 'proper' song in its own right. That's good principle to have, but if you take the Pompeii song, I thought that and video were sh*t.
The problem we've had with that, and the Coldplay song, and Dean's poem is that they're all the wrong tone for football.
A good atmosphere usually has a bit of an edge about it, it's rarely on a Saturday at 3pm or an early kick off. We also can't expect a good atmosphere throughout the full 90 minutes, it's all about moments and breaking the tension and having that natural response to a goal - Morgan vs Birmingham. The song beforehand sets the tone. So what is the tone we want? Are we a family club open to all? Do we want to be a menacing place for away fans? Do we want to focus on young 'lads' coming through the gates? You can't have it all an expect a good, coherent atmosphere.
For me Pigpag has always encapsulated QPR. It's bit shit but still good/catchy. It's also a timeless tune, not too rooted in any era/moment making it adaptable.
My favourite thing about it is how jarring it must be for away fans when we score!

Ok. Ok. Well...that IS quite bad. Lyrics are dull. Stupid even. Tune is...poor. They tried to make it catchy. Ok. But that just isnt. There is no hook in it. Its badly sung. I could go on. Its a try. But not a good one. Not sure who authorized it to replace London Calling but that person should take the blame and explain himself in front of the supporters at next home game and say he/she is very sorry and will not do it again.

Our club songs aren't overly unique at the moment. Pigbag is used by Boro, London Calling by every single other London side as well. However I do like the idea of the 3-4 songs before Kick Off being QPR/West London songs. So Libertines, Clash are obvious... Bastille actually support QPR so don't really mind that, Sex Pistols, The Cure... it can be done. Then play the poem, then let the lads walk out to Pigbag
If you are going to write an anthem I'd actually base it around Captain Jack which I think is unique to us

Who from Bastille supports Rangers? Didn’t know they were Rangers. I know one of them is Plymouth.

Given that Deep Purple's Ian Gillan is a fan, how about the first part of "Highway Star?" It's rousing stuff.
Even better if we can persuade him to change the the lyrics to: "All right, hold tight, we are QPR".

I'm very "niche" in my music tastes to a certain extent but also like to keep an open mind across all music genres.
One thing I always try to avoid is slagging off anyone who actually makes music, no matter the genre with two exceptions - 1) Grime Rap type stuff and 2) Manufactured AI crap Being able to write and perform music is a talent.
I don't find this song offensive and fair play to the lads who had a go at it. In terms of a run out tune... it's a no from me.
Not that I'm that bothered as I'm an annoying one last pint in the pub and late to seat type of attendee so I usually miss the pre KO music.

It's a no from me. No disrespect to the band, I just find this kind of thing a bit contrived. When you think of classic club anthems (e.g. You'll Never Walk Alone, I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles, etc.), they're usually bonafide songs adopted by fans, not songs written with the objective of being a club anthem. London Calling just works on so many levels and should be restored.

This means more to me than you know mate.
Listen I'm not there to jude what people think of this as I live in New Zealand and can appreciate change is never fully welcomed. Especially as the music that always played lays foundations for decades. So it is hard to push new music on mainstay fans.
But I make music as a hobby/get paid a bit to reinvest into the studio, and I'd like to take a moment of how much that would of meant to those who made it and to be absolutely crushed by it's reception breaks my heart.
I also appreciate most here acknowledge that the club needs to make sure it brunts most of this vitriol that it's getting. Those fellas don't deserve it.
I also appreciate it's not my cuppa either just expressing how much I feel those lads must be feeling right now.
I think there's been a massive over reaction and the nasty comments just promote the how crap social media can be at times. CLUB should have promoted the song over the summer and played a few times well before kick-off.
Feel sorry for the lads, they are obviously talented musicians who love QPR.
