Como 19:26 - Oct 21 with 2921 viewsQPRVAS1

Watching Como thrash Man Utd in the champions league got me thinking how far they've come in the last few years.
It wasn't that long ago when they signed a player from us on loan.

I think it also shows how far Moan Utd have fallen.

Birch was with them for a while. Is he still there?

Dennis Wise, too?

Birch left in 2023.

One of life’s great joys watching that lot get thumped.

I was really impressed by Como this evening. Without the ball they closed down space quickly in a high press, with it they were always moving the ball quickly to players running into space behind static midfielders and defenders.

It was like watching us....

That could easily have been 10. Como absolutely dismantled Utd.

Never knowingly right.

Lewis Walker is the player that left us for Como. I had to loomit up. Dont remember him although wikipedia says he played 4 times for the first team.

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

Walker played 97 minutes for us, including 8 minutes in a 4-0 win against Swansea and a whole 0ne minute v Derby

I don't think he's had a mention here yet:

The Top 10 QPR players who didn't play for QPR by kensalriser 19 Oct 11:30
Obviously inspired by the current Shroedinger's player, Justin Obikwu.

Players who were signed ostensibly for the senior squad but never played (so the likes of youth players like the infamous Shimmin and Hislop are ruled out).

Number one is incontestably Richard Ord. Two years without a single appearance, never again played another minute of professional football.

Ned Zelic is also a shoe in, a club record signing who made four appearances. At least he was gone relatively quickly.

Armel Tchakounté: signed to help us along to the Premier League. Did he make an appearance? Even Wikipedia can't decide if it's four or none.

Taylor Richards: No one needs nor wants any reminders here.

I'm sure there are more belters I haven't thought of, probably signed by Harry Redkapp. What do we have?

A wonderful watch, and not just because I'll never tire of Man Utd getting bummed.
Como reminded me of Bielsa's Bilbao side, which also ripped into Man Utd a decade or so ago.

Hate the bit where they keep panning to the United away end and how it is emptying. "Best fans in the country", always so loyal, blah blah blah blah blah, getting soaked, blah blah.

Yeah, they travel to Como and other European places to watch Fernandes and Mbuemo.

What about going to Grimsby on a Tuesday night with Steve Slade upfront? I know who are the more admirable fans.

When Flavio Briatore said he wanted to QPR to be a 'boutique' club, Como 1907 is probably what he had in mind. Problem is, a stadium on the edge of the White City estate doesn't scream 'boutique' in the same way a stadium on the shore Lake Como does!

So I think we're at the big name, experienced, no-nonsense ball breaker to whip these players into shape stage of things now. Conte?

Followed of course by the promising, progressive up and comer, and then the club legend. Maybe Neville's turn next time.

I must admit I love watching Man Utd struggle. I think I hate them more than Chelsea and Luton.

It all goes back to the Eric Cantona goal in the 112th minute. Not that I hold grudges or anything.

Hearing the fall out between players and management is hilarious.

There's a reason Bruno Fernandes has never made it to the absolute top of the game, the bloke can't run. Having him in midfield is playing with 10 men defensively.

Any team that can press effectively, and pass sharply with movement, is going to absolutely thrash that shower Utd have put together.

Absolutely here for it.

Phil or Gary? Or maybe both as a dream team.

"Maybe Neville's turn next time."

Which one?

Or do you want to reunite the Valencia dream team?

Mancs would be better off with the Marx Brothers

Definitely spooky.

The Neville brothers at our club would certainly scare the bejesus out of me.

On the subject of Valencia........

Carlos Corberan is still out of work.

The Mancs could certainly do worse than him. Not that their fans would have someone who wasn't a 'name'

Como play with Fabregas’s dna all over them. A team, a beautiful team.

Man U a shower from the top to the bottom. Deserve everything they have brought on themselves.

Loved watching Como play and those mercenaries getting one handed to them
