Arsenal have turned a rough diamond into a star !!

Hilarious !!

Arsenal the team that broke the boys heart by rejecting him as a kid and a few more rejections later before a team in blue and white hoops saw the magic and the guy was already silk at QPR, showed he could perform at the highest level with Palace.

Then Arsenal sponge out near to £70 million for a bit of rough and within 15 games turn him into a star !!!

The logic of a genius !!!

Up the Arsenal, indeed.....

I always thought he was class, but watching that back I didn't realise how class. It will be a long time till we have someone with that ability, at that age. People mention Kolli but he's not anywhere close to that level.

It does make you look back and think with Wells up front, Eze behind, Bright on one wing, Chair on the other, Manning at left back, Darnell coming through...that could have been such an exciting side had we got recruitment right. It should have been good enough for the play-offs. How did we not achieve more.

Lovely video.

He is, most clearly, too good for you.

Would this be the same Arsenal (with "talent ID second to none") that rejected him as a youth?

Giles AFC, let me correct that sentence for you - 'QPR's talent ID is second to none'. You're welcome.

No-one can really argue that Palace made him either (which I have seen and heard around here a bit). I just casually remind them that they paid £20m for what then?

His time in our first team co-incided with my cancer journey and much of life became a blur. Watching some of that is like seeing it for the first time.

What a player we had.

The video is lovely, and any excuse to see it it obviously worthwhile, but the original Arsenal tweet is a clickbait tweet designed to farm outrage and engagement - if you scroll back not 5 or so tweets the account was a rabid Nott's Forest account.

That's the problem for the terminally online world these days, everything is performative, everything is about engagement and everything is content.

Can we not knock it?

Thank you for posting this, a beautiful video.

When he got into our team I told everyone who would listen that Rangers had a superstar who would play for England or Nigeria. It didn't take long for most to start believing me!

It was so obvious he was massively talented for years, I was baffled no one bought him off Palace years ago.

He's got that way of moving with the ball, almost a swagger that only the most skilful players have, every movement looking in control and strong while gliding past players.

Tarbs is probably the only other player we've had in my time that had that.

Odd for a Derby fan. He seems to be big fan of us this season with manager and signings we’ve made.

Cracking video. He was a bit lazy though 😉😂

I think he's a secret QPR fan. He keeps mentioning us as dark horses for the play-offs.

Darnell had gone by that point, that final game of the Covid interrupted season away to West Brom that features a number of times in that video (including Eze's glorious last goal for QPR) had Darnell playing for the Baggies.

I suppose the recruitment point still stands, as the 2018/19 team included Furlong (think he left end of season although could be wrong) and included Dieng, Manning, Bright, Chair, Eze, we even had Wzolek and Luongo that went on to do impressive things. Throw in Nahki Wells arriving on loan during the season, that team, with some good transfer business should have either kicked on and achieved a lot more than it did, or we should have been able to polish some talent and make a lot of money in the market. It's criminal that we did neither - with only Eze generating anything to write home about.

Not sure, I listened to Second Tier for about half a season a few years ago, and it seemed pretty clear they had no idea about QPR at all? I know they did a youtube piece on us fairly recently, where they explain why we're dark horses, but it was pretty superficial, and seemed put together from stuff anyone could find from ten minutes googling and with no real insight or analysis.

They are Derby fans, but I like those two. They're a good laugh and it's fun to listen to after and before a weekend of football (obviously only if we've won).

They did a good video on Jordan Ibe this week. What a downfall that is.

I just can't bring myself to give the Second Tier guys any credit. It feels like they just got to the market first and don't provide any real insight.

When you've got Gab Sutton whose knowledge and research frankly wipes the floor of these two wallopers not having the same level of profile, it's just annoying.

So we can have Tarabt or Eze at the peak of their powers. Which one do you chose?

Based on their peak for QPR it has to be Taarabt.

But based on their career peak, surely Eze now. Would surprise me if he isnt on the ballon d'or 30 shortlist come next year, especially if Arsenal win the league and/or champions league. Special player.

Quick (relatively easy) quiz question I've just thought up whilst on the subject of Eze...

Assuming Arsenal go on to win the League this season, who were the last 2 QPR players to win a top flight League title?

Well they just go for the clickbait, while Gab fortunately is above that. Just that sadly it means he doesn't get the exposure he deserves.
