Cannot post this picture but the position of the bulbs this season is totally different to previous season. They now seem to be in one block of 4x4 or 5x5 whereas previously it seems that less bulbs were used by strategically better placed and angled.
No, it's really bad at the game too. There are patches down at the School End where I can't really tell who is who any more.
Hangovers take longer to recover from. Coppers look barely older than nephews and nieces. The music kids listen to has no words. Getting out of a comfy chair is more of an effort. People comment on how loud the TV is when they enter the room you’re watching in. You can’t see b’stard away end at night games.
Its a nice pair of slippers for you at Christmas fella!!
'Always In Motion' by John Honney available on amazon.co.uk
It’s A new tactic to put the opponents off dark are end of the pitch so they can’t see the goal. Must admit the ground has a strange glow something out of a horror movie!
That's a fantastic clip Bosh, ta. Old John had a good head for heights it seems - no chance I'd have been up there - sterner stuff.
He also climbed up Nelsons Column for blue Peter too.I think it waswhile they were cleaning it.The worst bit was the overhang at the top.He virtually had to climb upside down hanging on to the ladder. No health and safety in those days. It is worth a watch on YouTube. He certainly had some balls to climb that ladder with no safety equipment.
Emailed Supporter Services about the Floodlights and they responded with the following today:
" We will be publishing some information regarding this soon on our website and social media channels. Upgrades have been undertaken over the summer and every area of the ground has improved, however there is a balancing issue that we are working to resolve — but further info will be in the club announcement soon."

..and as Billy Connolly said your doctor loses interest in your balls and becomes obsessed with your ar5ehole
Lights are actually worse than the ones we had early to mid sixties - the ones with pylons held up by guy ropes. Wot's rong with the modern practice of putting them up on the edges of the stand roofs?

I suspect the stands are too low and we'll all be blinded with the glare!

Or given the age and materials of our stands they'd probably pull them down!
I still think getting a big TV screen up on the School End without the whole stand falling down is one of the most under-rated engineering marvels of our age...

The one in Fred Dibnah's first series is even worse he's literally 300 ft up in the air knocking bricks down a chimney hole with no rope or railing.
I bloody loved Fred Dibnah.

There is also a video on YouTube I think where somebody has has to climb our Mendlesham mast to change a light bulb at the top and that is 1100 ft tall I think. They couldn’t pay me enough to get 50ft up there let alone to the top. Sorry it’s only 1002 ft tall.
