Fan Mobilisation - Nourry Out 23:26 - Nov 9 with 58110 viewsMarkofthegrove

I'll start by saying, this is not my forum usually. But the artist formally known as Twitter has become an echo chamber of monstrous proportion.

Nourry needs to be removed from his post ASAP before he can do any more damage, there is a vandalism of our club happening and it needs to stop immediately.

But how do we do it? I feel like fans and supporters groups have been weak for a long time now. There were some great folk back when we are in administration that were with QPR 1st.

I've heard rumours of some stuff happening, but it needs to be coordinated and it needs to happen ASAP.

I'd honestly be close to being done with QPR if they sack Marti who is the only bloody good thing about this club right now.

Someone needs to bring this together, protests for protests sake do not work. It needs to have purpose, be targeted and ask the right questions and have the right people involved.

I'm interested to see how next week goes. You've got three winnable games. We need to start winning right now. If we happen to get turned over by Stoke and Cardiff it'll be interesting to see how the crowd turns, and on who. If we pick up a couple of wins, then the mood will shift.

Yes. We all know the difference between the feelings on here and the general feelings of the crowd, especially at home games.

I've worked myself into a fury in the past at people like Laird and Roberts and been given quizzical looks. I've had a go at Armstrong for over celebrating and they think you are insane.

If it was down to me, I would want mobilisation against Nourry. But no way in the world will it happen. I also think the home fan base is somewhat disparate these days. You have the 'yoof' who are more interested in goading opposition fans and filming themelves than watching the football; the cokeheads who just want to laugh manically, fight with anyone and leave at random points, the can't-get-in-to-Chelsea/Brentford/Fulham lot who are either just there with their mates in pity or find it all a bit quaint....

Then there's us, howling at the moon. Perhaps the best bet would be from the brilliant QPR flag guys, they have that excellent Marti flag don't they? But who says they agree anyway?

9 pages in.

Are we "mobilised"? What's happening at the Stoke game then?

Nothing I guess. NINE pages of hand wringing and "woe is us" and still nothing happens.

Listen, I get it - I am hurting like the rest of you; I WANT something to change. Its not the manager though, that's been tried. We've also tried changing the CEO and the DOF and still no change. Which leaves the owners. The real problem.

So, go on hound them out and then let's wait and see what circles round the carcass of this club of "ours". It'll be worse I promise you.

Its easy to say "let's mobilise, let's change". But identifying WHAT you want to change, what you want to replace it with and then making it happen are far, far more tricky.

And, pre-empting the "well at least we're trying something" defence, well you really aren't; all you are doing is expressing angst on a message board screaming about how unfair it all is and how the club is being run abysmally.

All true. Every word.

Maybe I am defeatist, maybe I am a realist - dunno, but being shite really, really blows.

Good luck to anyone who can do something; please step forward. The rest of you, I am with you that things HAVE to get better, but have no clue how.

The real problem...is the owners are hopeless optimists like us fans,

Who saw Andersen on his debut lift his head up, see a man in the box, play a pin-point measured cross and think, this is it, we've fixed it....

Who saw Luke Amos, break a line in midfield, run on to receive a return pass, score and think, wow, this is it, we solved it,

We all did, as our standards have been set so low we have become like our Owners, hopeless optimists, always looking for the next short-term,

Our Owners are good people (look at Charlton) but like Charlton's sliding doors moments with Alan Curbishley (read Clive's prophetic words on Warbuton's departure, a strangely carthartic read) we had ours with Mark Warburton,

Our Owners are like us, good people, with good intentions, floundering around looking for the simple solution,

They're hopeless optimists and with that comes hopeless naivety, look at our DoF appointments, they're star-fxxkers, they want to hang around with Les, with Charlie, they're fans,

They need an adult in the room, who says lads we've got no infrastructure, no plan, this medicine might taste or sound nice (eg your Academy is dog-shit & those guys you really like who you think are your mates are mugging you-off), the medicine might even hurt initially, but this plan will make you better.

Fan Mobilisation - Nourry Out, yes, then what....it has to be Warburton In....whether it be to turn us around with his contacts like he can short-term and keep us in the championship or to bring us out of League 1 on a long-term sustainable footing.

Nourry out / Warburton In....is the only lifeboat on our sinking ship.

I can understand the negative comments about the number of pages this thread has now reached, and what have we really decided, if anything, to do.

But I think there's something to be said for the fact that the vast majority of people seem to agree that, if anything is going to change, it shouldn't be the manager, as is so often the case, but the CEO.

I expect Nourry will be banking on that standard approach of churning through managers, but if those who disagree can get behind Marti vocally at the next game, I think that can send a message of sorts.

I said before, one simple way to do it could be to sing the Marti song from the off, and regardless of how the team are performing tbh, which will be the difficult part.

Don't forget your flaming torch.

In all seriousness I am quite surprised that the DoF is considered the issue here. While, short-term he is, even if Noury goes, then what?

Does anyone, hand on heart, really expect the owners to hire someone competent? You are expecting things will change despite 10/15 years of continuous incompetence.

If the fans really want it to change, then unfortunately it would mean a change of ownership. However, no one will buy us, so we are stuck.

I'm a long time lurker first time poster.

I actually think everything is pretty much going to plan. The plan is to buy players, improve them over time and sell for a profit. If we bought well-rounded and Championship-experienced players, it is unlikely that we could then sell them on for a profit.

I can well-imagine that all four of those involved with the purchases this summer were perfectly aware of the limitations of the players they bought. I saw on the West London podcast the criticism of buying Madsen as he is a good technician but doesn't tackle or get involved enough physically. If he did then we either wouldn't have got him or, certainly, wouldn't have got him for the price we paid.

So, when he was identified, I suspect there was discussion along the lines of:

"Marti, we have this player who is technically good but needs coaching on how to put himself about and tackle. Do you reckon you can make that happen?"

"Yep, sure thing but it'll take a good season or so"

"Perfect, let's get him in on a long term contract then and improve him."

I think we are part way through that journey.

In my opinion is that the plan this season was to get a load of "rough diamonds" in and make them into diamonds further down the line. The only caveat would be "but don't get relegated".

Obviously, the don't get relegated bit is looking iffy at the moment but we have a good head coach and I have faith that he will get the best out of these players. We are already seeing signs of improvement in some of the signings but the pressure now is to make those improvements sooner so that we aren't relegated.

If we survive this season and all our signings are better at the end of the season than at the start then that is progress.

Buying "Championship ready" players hasn't worked previously and just saying we want to buy players, improve them and sell them on hasn't been enough. We are on a journey now to actually try to make that happen. It won't happen soon enough to satisfy some but, in my opinion, I have faith that it will happen.

Maybe we tried to change too much too soon but I think we will view the transfer business from this summer very differently on a couple of years time.

Hi Christian welcome to the board! 😆

Just kidding, a decent post.

I like this plan but two things:

1) Why not say so? We’re all (mostly) big boys. If I was told ‘we are going through this transitional period atm. Might result in relegation but long term we thing we’ll be left with some young saleable assets on long term contracts please give them time’ I’d swallow it. Why all the bullshit and dick waving? Why the playing in empty stadiums, locking QPR grassroots media out, and the lies about his football qualifications?

2) The current stats are trash. These are not players 6 months into a upward trajectory, these are players falling into IMF junk status. I genuinely think they are bad buys, and I think 6 months is long enough to judge them now.

Madsen is 24 by the way.

All good but we need to maintain Championship status too.

We've been unfortunate with injuries but I don't think there was enough contingency in the signings - expecting Colback to stay fit at the age of 34/35 and not signing Hayden or a Championship equivalent, currently the biggest oversight.

Why do you think Warrburton will fix any of that?
More chance of him being a manager here than a DOF

Because I hope our Owners will finally see sense and realise.....

A City & Guilds in Painting & Decorating and a UEFA Coaching Badge are not relevant experience for a role as a DoF.

Neither is a recently acquired Oxbridge degree or a short stint as a Recruitment Consultant.

Only quote I remember from my first MD was...'you'll soon find out common sense is not that common', I'm just hoping owners have finally wised up.

I actually think the fans in the ground will turn on the manager if we lose the next two .

Majority of people don't care or hear about what goes on behind the scenes and just turn up to games to support the team .

Or as country music fans might say, a quarter moon in a 10 cent town.

What makes you think the owners are even aware there is a problem?

I just don't see what credentials Warburton has for the role either really, he's shown when he was in the role before it was just a pathway to getting the managers job

There must be a different option to stick with a kid or go back to someone who used to work here. There must be someone else in the world who could do the job but I don't have any faith at all in the club finding them

Agree 100% with your last sentence,

Who has the contacts & can hit the ground running quick enough to make use of the January transfer window?

Who most importantly understands the club (and knows its under-performing staff) well enough to do a cull should we be relegated?

When you're up against it, always go for the tried & tested option even if its an 8/10, rather than gambling looking for a 10/10, and hitting zero,

Our owners have fallen for too much patter from too many people for too long Ferdinand (even tho I like the bloke), Beale (understandable maybe), Nourry (completely inexplicable) etc,

Sometimes in life the hard truth is what you need and our owners were told it before by Warburton and they put their heads in the sand,

I was told they belatedly wised up to Ferdinand & his Academy cronies, after letting Warburton go, maybe they'll realise he had their best interests at heart, even if he was thee only one not blowing smoke up their backsides like everyone else (many posters including Northern will have noticed the carry on of Lee, Les etc around Reuben)

I think if Nourry gets rid of Marti, he makes himself look ridiculous by only a few weeks ago extending his contract, so getting rid now makes it more expensive and if a decision can have a complete u turn in a couple of months, then there could be no faith in the leadership and its direction wished for in anyways....

We need to look beyond the next window though we do this every year hoping the next window will save us, short term it might but long term we need to get this right.

Warbs is full of patter as well, he's not daft and knows what to say and when, his timing with his latest interview is outstanding

No he isn't, but why would he want to come back to this basket case of a club after seeing it first hand?

After 12 or so years they have been in charge, you'd hope that the board members might have actually made a few contacts in the game who they might actually be able to trust. But clearly that is not the case as, apart from chucking the money in (deep, deep thanks for that!), what have they done in the last couple of years?

Ferdinand failed in his remit, so had to go, but did they sack him? Nah, they let HIM make that decision. Similarly Hoos was a busted flush and just, well QPR'd so he had to go, but did they sack him? No, they let him "step aside".

Face it, they are NEVER at the games anymore and are not pro-active in bettering this club. A "hostile" take over from someone else with deep pockets is teh ONLY way out of this and I do not see any volunteers - you?

Sad.

Can we go out yet?

There must be a different option to stick with a kid or go back to someone who used to work here. There must be someone else in the world who could do the job but I don't have any faith at all in the club finding them

remember the QPR mantra, when its going pete tong bring in an old fav to quell the natives, so he would likely to come in as manager not CEO , his interview podcast proved that last week.

Wow I find this truly amazing that anybody can say it's going to plan, having won only one game, playing some poor football and only getting points with backs to the wall defending.

We all know that the club needs to make money and getting prospects in, giving them experience and selling them on is exactly the model that got Brentford promoted, it's been discussed on here till the "cows come home", that market has also shrunk in the last few years and you need top quality players to be bought by a Premiership club to make decent money.

The strategy in the Summer was far too one eyed, only going for players from abroad and not looking at the UK market, we brought in 10 new players and some of them needed to have Championship experience to give us a fighting chance of avoiding relegation.

Not sure if you ever been involved in Project Management but when putting your strategy together you would assess every different factor before making your extensive plans for the next season and number one priority for the owners and the football club is don't get relegated, the transfer strategy was a massive gamble.

Getting Championship players has worked before a certain Mr Warnock did it very successfully, there's nothing wrong in getting some older heads in to work with the younger prospects until they get up to speed.

Trouble is Nourry thought exactly along the lines you have described I presume a massive coincidence, there's plenty of posts on this thread and the Marti out one by Nico and Hunter explaining why Nourry is out of his depth, if he's going to stay then he needs a Director of Football.
