Queens Park Razors hopefully taking the edge off. Sheff Utd vs QPR match thread 12:02 - Nov 6 with 49471 viewsSpaceman_P

After last night's efforts... I'm gonna be blunt

Qpr 1 Sheffield Utd 1.

I hope this is wrong but I'm not fuelled with optimism

We need to sharpen up else this will be a cut throat time for us.

Total rehaul needed on Saturday.

Queens Park Razors hopefully taking the edge off. Sheff Utd vs QPR match thread on 14:15 - Nov 8 by Ned_Kennedys

He can have no complaints as he’s been in terrible form. Had plenty of games to show why he should be Number One and just hasn’t played well enough and has a fair share of the blame for numerous goals.

Yeah I think this is a fair point Ned.

He’s starting to look worse and worse when he should have grasped the opportunity.
I think we have damaged him by what happened in the summer but players have to be bigger than that. Being out of favour is a part of football .

But a keeper who’s barely played in years, in his late 30’s is damning and is a huge risk .
If he has a bad game JS could be in hot water

Kolli is finished, need to know the facts of what has been & is going on.

He is not good enough anyways.

Maybe he will be off in January. Won't get much for him I guess- a fiver and a bag of salt and vinegar crisps is all we can expect?

I would usually be there but I'm not, so I'm expecting a decent performance and a win. That's usually how it pans out.

Let's cheer up a bit and start a few 'positive waves' we haven't lost yet.

The way we’ve managed to manufacture a completely unnecessary goalie crisis out of nothing is nuts.

At the end of last season nobody gave two thoughts about the keeper, we were fine

If you think Nardi is the problem……………😢

Agree

Nardi did well last season. Runner up in player of the season.

So dropped originally for a guy with zero professional playing experience who was shocking in all games he played. Walsh hung out to dry also.

Nardi's confidence and faith in QPR consequently shot and played likewise. Admittedly Nardi has been poor but if you hark back to the game model, we have in improving players value, we shot two goalkeepers and now playing the emergency stand in, who is near to collecting his football pension !!!

Add to this our most consistent goalkeeping performer, one league down, and has got rave reviews for eighteen months or so but is still out on loan for the season.

Walsh should have got a loan and we start with Nardi and Cooper on bench and if Nardi has bad start, Cooper comes in. Walsh gets professional experience to start with at a lower level.

Game model in action - not ??

Absolutely. But any self respecting footballer would be off after being dropped twice over, the second time to a loanee,

Interesting.
GK in bad form or GK who hasnt played since the spinning jenny was introduced. And Chair...dribble dribble cut in from the left, dribble dribble and lose the ball and worst corner kicks ever.
But Im trying to stay positive and say 1-2.

It is damning, Mart.

We've only had one injury, and we're reduced to playing a 37-year old who hasn't played in eighteen months.

Cooper's out on loan again for some reason.
Walsh should've been sent out on loan.
Salamon is 21. He should be ready.

Jesus , we really have fcuked ourselfs over with the goalkeeper situation this season ! Nardi has his faults but was one of our better performers last season and probably last on the list of things that needed addressing!
Hopefully hamer has been put in due to his ability and presence around the team rather than making nardi the scapegoat for our pathetic defending this season

Want to be positive - but the gk situation hints at a certain level of chaos. 'Twas ever thus....

No chance, I'm afraid - 4-0 to Sheff Utd.

As a club who's supposed to develop players putting a 37 years old who hasn't played for 18 months is embarrassing

Also Frey instead of Kolli 😂

One nil defeat incoming

It's a big call, but outcome bias will ultimately dictate whether it's seen as the right call I guess - a few big claims from crosses today will have us all saying what a bold and necessary decision it was.

But this, the Walsh fiasco plus the Kolli mystery does give me nagging concerns about what the vibe is behind the scenes, which could be important if we find ourselves struggling at the wrong end of the table this winter.

I dont know, maybe as supporters we make more of a meal out of this stuff than it deserves.

tl;dr I dont know 🤷‍♂️

I watched him again during the week, and I really like him and love watching him, but on balance I agree with you, Fred.

But he's 21, not 18.
He should have 100 games under his belt and he should be ready, imo.

Or Dembele….dribble dribble cut in from the right. One left footed, one right footed. What exactly do you expect, other than attempts at crossing from the bylines for the defenders to head clear, like, every time.

Must admit I'm ready and primed to be exasperated by Dembele right from KO today, I find him so frustrating. I'd play Smyth over him all day long.

I probably would too but I thought he did not do too bad when he came on against Saints.

Any streams please??

No one has said anything on this thread about the keeper situation that hasn't been said since the preseason. Now either we're all correct or the club knows something we don't.

Alas, I think we're the ones who are right. Utterly ridiculous situation and I suspect it will be worsened by putting Walsh straight back in when he returns to fitness. Salamon ain't going to be ready anytime soon playing for the Devs. Get him out on loan asap!

I hope I am wrong, but if Hamer starts flapping, it could get ugly. No doubt there'll be targeting from the off. That defence needs to front-up today, too.
