Kone, i thought was excellent today. Some very clever footwork and keeping his body shielding the ball and breaking through. No real chances for him today aparr from the goal he scored, but his overall performance today for me was very encouraging !!
Edwards was solid and although i thought JCS wasnt yet at his best, it was encouraging to see him on the pitch.
Mbengue came on too late for me but we look more in with a chance when he marauding down the wing.
Kolli and Smyth also changed the approach a little also.
Good to see Kone scoring again, not his fault Smyth got it disallowed. As much as I have a soft spot for Smyth...he really is one of the thickest footballers I have seen for a while. And there is a lot to choose from😉

Left at Half time. We were poor. After the Shepherd & Flock was taken over by Sheff Urd fans, could not sit and listen to then any longer SAR A block.
Positive was I got back to the pub early, which after the two games this week was welcome.
On another side note left Shepherd & Flock and went to The Swakely, the old O'Donahues. Aint been in there since we won the league against Leeds. On matchdays they reduce the Guinness by £2. £4.20. Pub is a shit hole pub but two quid off a Guinness I can live with the run down surroundings and there was loads of space

And to continue the love for Kone, that's where I'd be looking for players going forwards. League 1, the Championship, the odd foreign buy like Madsen. But build a tough team of Kones.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

I thought Varane, give away yet hospital pass to him aside, played some good passes and looked decent considering 2 months out. . Salter showed his class in the hour he was on and agree that Kone kept plugging away whilst showing some good movement and touch, great driving run towards end of first half. He desperately needs a break but the fact he’s not getting one isn’t his fault…. There’s no one else!!

Spending £4.5m on a CB then playing him at right back ahead of our RB just shows what a gratuitous and pountless signing Edwards is.
Unbalanced back 4 when that was previously the least of our worries.
So bloody QPR.
Dunne is the elephant in the room. He doesn’t fit the intended passing style one bit, and is one of a few players who contribute heavily to our inability to keep possession. But was made club captain, and mostly playing well.
However, if we truly are to implement a more possession-based style - rather than just saying it - the club need to get a lot more ruthless with who they keep and who they move on.
Assuming both are fit, Edwards at RCB and JCS at LCB is the first choice pairing, not only in overall quality, but also because it directly fits the alleged club model.

Verane cost us the game giving the ball away to Campbell in the exact same spot he missed a stunning goal by inches a few minutes before .He needed no second chance to bury us . Andy Sinton said "forward Johnaton " after another backwards pass from a good spot so unless he played well in the second half (lost my signal ) he had a very poor first IMO. Glad to see the love for Kone but he is still leading the odds table to get injured next hope he can avoid that

The weather was nice, so I had a pleasant walk from Hammersmith to the ground. When I got home the missus had a couple of beers chilled in the fridge ready.

It was a terrible pass by Varane for their 2nd goal. But when for most of the game Morgan didn't appear to be on the pitch when viewing on QPR+, and the early match stats confirming we had only 30% possession, Varane prioritising keep ball was mostly the right call and helped us not get totally overwhemed by SU. I guess he was subbed to reduce the chances of a recurrence of his recent injury.
