I'm sorry to be an annoying ITK, but I can't say as it would compromise someone. There have been plenty of similar rumours on here.
I watched Kolli come through the DS and really enjoyed seeing one of ours make it to the first team. I still hope things work out and he stays. |

We have had some quite surprising formations in pre-season.
Do we think this is just Stéphan experimenting and if we do bring in a DCM player it goes back to a more predictable set up; or do we think this will be how he intends to set up, inc Burrell wide? |

Feels like the Squad is shaping up nicely, still a CM or 2 short and adequate cover in Fullback positions though.
If Edwards was to go I'd be happy to see Dunne and Mbengue as first choice CB pairing, with JCS and Morrison as capable back ups. If that happens I'd like us to get another RB in with Lamptey's fitness in question, for me Mbengue is 100% a CB doing a job at RB, and we will need pace next to Kemper whenever he plays. Adamson is dreadful, he and Hevertton need to be moved on, I have some good will for Larkeche but not much hope for Esquerdinha's development anymore.
Morgan seems to have regressed a bit, he got a good run in the side at the end of last season but if Madsen is the bar for that progressive CM role, he doesn't look like getting near it atm and could do with a full season as first choice somewhere in League 1 or abroad. Still very much has age on his side though. Alemayehu looks promising and got to test him out at some point the same way we did with KM.
Kolli needs to be reintegrated in to the Squad, if Lloyd is going to stick around he has a role to play in trying to close out games against tired legs, but can't be relied upon to score if we're chasing a game. Obikwu is an unknown quantity atm and could go either way, if he can get himself on the pitch.
Will be interesting to see what happens with Bennie, Smith and Pearman this year. They all need to go and play Football and prove themselves to be capable, but they may hang around to make up match day squad numbers when injuries occur. Interestingly they all have the same agent (as does Pulella), says alot about the extent of our scouting network! |  | | |

Yes totally agree. Him and Vale interchanging with Madsen deep looked very creative. Enjoyed watching this formation against Fiorentina. We have not had Ilias for a couple of seasons being very involved. A fit and firing version of himself is like a big money signing for ourselves.
Another conundrum to consider is playing Kone and Burrell and in reality, both have to start, if fit, but can't help feeling Burrell is wasted on the right, if Kone up top. And likewise when Kone was playing deeper behind Burrell, he was less effective also. Would take bravery from Stephan, just to have one in the eleven and one on the bench, but that could be more effective for the team.
Saito and Dembele also have not quite being doing it for me since their arrivals. Neither would be a starter, if fit but possibly at some point if there was a good money offer for either, I would be inclined to accept this and try someone else. Obviously, dont think thats for now due to Demebele being injured and Saito, on the back of a poor season. [Post edited 28 Jul 8:14]

I felt the same at first, as I was pretty skeptical of signing an older midfielder who was likely to be on higher wages and without much resale value.
However, as my Rangers group chat pointed out, we often complain that the club never bring in any experience or nous to the club and instead have been trying to make the team into a crèche. Maybe this is a good step? | | | |
